Wheels and Tires in Vancouver

I live in Richmond so the shops I usually go to are 1010 Tire or Garage 5 on Bridgeport.

Garage 5 - a one stop shop for Wheels and Tuning. Their supplier had the matte bronze XXR. You can order all your parts and book a day for install. Reasonable prices. Ask for Adrian or Rob

1010 is decent as well. They didn't have the matte bronze when I called. Good selection of low-mid level wheels.

Hope this helps

Received my emblems and trim package from FT86 speed factory today. Waiting for a nice sunny day to take replace the emblems. Unfortunately the centrepiece trim arrived damaged. Two small dings in the center and bent. Contacted speed factory, I hope something can be resolved.Attachment 102307

Rebadged the car today and added some trim pieces

This weekend I decided to rebadge the car...being the first time taking badges off obviously I was a bit worried about scratching or accidently taking off paint.

All the tutorials in the forum were a big help. Just to share my personal experience doing this mod, It is actually quite easy especially with a heat gun and fishing line.

The heat gun helps alot when you need to take off the first layer of glue residue after you take off the badge.

A quick tip to remove the residue, heat a bit of the glue and roll a bit with your finger, heat a bit roll a bit. It will be hot to the touch so do it quickly.

Seeing the steering wheel emblem badge on FT86Speedfactory was the deciding point on doing this mod.

you can find it here:
http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/toyo...rlay-1943.html

I feel its the cleanest option besides ordering a new airbag from overseas.

Really like the 'chrome' trim around the air vents.. they are more super polished steel than chrome.

An update from the Speedfactory was that they will replace the damaged center trim. Great service and great communication. Order from them with confidence!

Over all the job took about 4 hours working leisurely.

Been awhile since I have posted in the forum, had a baby boy so I haven't had too much time to play with the car. Thing have finally settled down a bit, as a birthday gift to myself I decided to order a few things which might lead down the path to go faster parts.

Ordered the OFT tablet and a drop in K&N filter with plans to purchase a UEL header.

Also ordered the DAMD seat covers in black with red stitching. Look forward to taking out the seats and installing them.

DAMD Seat Covers

7 Attachment(s)
Received the DAMD seat covers in the mail on monday, ordered them from 86 worx. There was a 2 week delay because DAMD in Japan was waiting for their latest production run. The package was sent via EMS and arrived aprox in a week.

Thanks to @Pointmutation for posting his experience with these seat covers.

I recommend taking out the front seats to install these. We did installed them on a sunny day in my friends yard. The sun heating up the leather helped take out the wrinkles.

Not going to go in depth on how to take out the seats many tutorials online.

Tools
Socket wrench

Front seat
14mm socket for the seat belt
E10 Torx socket to take out the seats

Rear seat
10mm socket

Heat gun or Hair Dryer to help take out the wrinkles

I live in an apartment so I started with the rear seats first, they were easy to take out but requires the most work to take out the wrinkles in the bucket area, could do this in the comfort of my home while watching the nba finals.

Once all the wrinkles were out of the back buckets I needed to shape the seat so I used a sack of rice....how asian. haha

Then went to my buddies place to finish the front seats. The front seats are nice fitting and looked great instantly. Just keep massaging the wrinkles out.

Took my time and installed it over a few days. I do admit half way through the install there was a moment where I thought "this is the worst purchase I made for the FRS, I should sell the kit"

but

after it is installed and settled a bit I am really enjoying it. Most people who have seen the interior didn't notice the change cuz it looked OEM...which is a good thing. You don't want people saying nice covers!

There is a small part of me that is still a bit unsure that I want to keep them . Maybe because inside I know they are covers and have not gotten over that. Time will tell.

Man those seat covers look very premium. Something this car is missing. They look great!

Thanks! I felt the same, something was missing. Now that the rear buckets have settled and held its shape. I am very happy with the mod. Its amazing how a simple mod can change the feel of the car.

True dat. These seat covers are the best mod I've done so far. My friends I show my interior to all say nice seats or nice interior or nice leather, never nice covers. Lol. It matches so well it just belongs, like an oem seat looks.

I like the idea of using rice bags to settle the seats. Here I was actually sitting in the back seat at times chilling and reading my iPad to get it to settle. Haha.

Lol at first I went to the garage and sat in the seat also....sit in the back, then passenger. Hit my head a few times sitting the back so thats when I thought to buy a bag of rice.....plus you can eat it after.
