1700 lbs is nice $19k - $22k even nicer. That's attainable, but only .88gs makes me wonder. Needs more road tests.

Yeah especially with it having an ECOTEC motor. You could beat the living piss out of that thing all day long.

Takumi788 07-31-2014 02:46 PM

I dont know how I feel about the fact that its a three wheeler. If if was a cheap version of an Atom or crossbow I would be interested.

hypercarfanatic 07-31-2014 02:46 PM

Sweet almighty lord jesus....I would buy this right now. I wonder how well it would work as a car to take to college in socal....

Exactly, that's an easy motor to deal with, fix, etc. and are reliable as is anyway.

I like the 3-wheel, but I do like that they point out that makes it classified as a motorcycle. Got to have that M on your license to drive it legally. I would get rid of my bike for this if I had the money, shoot.

Wow really? I mean it has a steering wheel, pedals, and a gear shift! Weird...

A blurb on licensing from the article

One of the contingencies for ownership is the need for a motorcycle endorsement to drive one, depending on the pre-existing laws of individual states. In regards to licensing, we were told, “Virtually all states classify Slingshot as a motorcycle, and therefore any licensing regulations and restrictions (like helmet laws) that apply to motorcycles also apply to Slingshot. California is an exception in that it classifies Slingshot as a 3-wheeled motorcycle, which can be ridden with only a Class C license. Virginia classifies it as a 3-wheeled motorcycle and offers a special 3-wheeled motorcycle license (M3).”

These will definitely sell in California :)

That thing is going to understeer like crazy with 3 wheels... no thanks

TjAlmeida 07-31-2014 03:18 PM

probably a stupid requirement from me. But if that thing got amazing fuel mileage. It is definitely on my list as a daily vehicle. Would be even better if it came with a removable hard or soft top.
