Anyone tried Hood Dampers

Has anyone tried the Gimmick Motorsports Hood Dampers? or similar? Is there a supporting vendor product alternative?

[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Gimmick-Motorsports-Black-Dampers-Subaru/dp/B009WVS7GM"]Amazon.com: Gimmick Motorsports Black Hood Dampers 2013 Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S: Automotive[/ame]

Eliminates the Hood Prop and supports the hood when open from both sides.

Wondering what everyone thinks, worth installing!

@GrimmSpeed sells them! They're wonderfully designed, like the rest of GrimmSpeed's products.

Haven't heard of Gimmick; however, I have saw a lot of folks that seemed to like the Grimmspeed. Here's a vendor post from that had those and some other's:

I ordered my Perrin Exhaust from Mike and was VERY pleased with CZP. Will probably eventually get the Grimmspeed's myself when I have some money to burn.

YUp, @GrimmSpeed get my absolute recommendation. They work well, can easily be installed on your own and their customer service (one of my struts was bad out of the box, sent me a complete kit to fix the issue) is second to none.

Pay the little bit more for peace of mind and get Grimmspeed's struts

I have Grimmspeed hood struts, they are an absolute must for anyone spending considerable time under their hood. Really quality parts and finish, and they're a 15 minute install.

The grimmspeed work amazing and the extra lift they give the hood is very nice.

I have Greddy ones but I hear the Grimmspeed ones are better

very very awesome, if the exchange rate wasnt so bad that it makes these super expensive for me, I would have the grimspeed one in a second

The standard hood prop catually has another hole farther down the hood that will keep it up higher as well, but still prefer the struts obviously.

They're one of the first mods that anyone should do

+15 for the Grimmspeed recommendation

AJPG 08-01-2014 07:06 PM

Completely agree!
This was my first mod 2 years ago.
Then get some blig for under the hood! Cath can, intake, hoses, caps! What ever you desire
But keep it clean and enjoy!

Grimmspeed. Gimmick is just that. The name says it all.

I have the gimmick hood dampers. They work. Their cheap, don't look as nice. But their dampers. Nobody looks at them.
