I'll have to try to make the next meet up. I'm demoing a new Axle Back you guys should hear! I'll get a review up in the next couple days also.

DarrenDriven 08-22-2012 09:50 PM

Yeah, I'll probably host another get together next week when I get back from Idaho.

DarrenDriven 08-28-2012 02:05 AM

@digital_assassin, @NickFRS and @Mongo hit the shop again today, and nice to meet @Kmurph, @kiki76 and @FRES86!

DarrenDriven 08-28-2012 02:11 AM

Haha... those aren't all my FRS's, man, I only have one. :)

WRB-DZA-BRZ 08-30-2012 12:18 PM

Darren, got plans on September 22nd? It's your shop available for use then? Thomas Dekany (http://tdekany.com/) is going to be doing a new car prep and opticoat on my BRZ, and we need an indoor place to work. My garage is much too small and cluttered to work in.

DarrenDriven 08-30-2012 12:34 PM

I have nothing going on that day. It would be nice to sit, drink beer and watch someone else work for once. I blocked the afternoon off on my calendar and the garage is yours.

Neziah 08-30-2012 01:08 PM

Group Buy Time! That is who I am going to have do mine when ever I quit blowing my cash on home repairs. ><

Dang lucky I'm having to drop my car off at his house 1hr away . He just isn't available any time I am.

WRB-DZA-BRZ 08-30-2012 02:03 PM

Sounds good, can you pm me your address? I'll let you know a better guess on time when I get more info.

FRES86 08-31-2012 05:12 AM

Man, This is a great resource you have made available to the local area. I'll have to make a trip down sometime to visit Portland / your shop.

DarrenDriven 08-31-2012 04:29 PM

Yeah man, just give me a heads up.

By the way, I used to work at the Kinkos that was near The Ram and South Hill Mall. That was in like 1996...haha.

digital_assassin 08-31-2012 04:35 PM

@DarrenDriven - that's so cool you are getting the "kids" involved. Great learning experience for them.

I'm getting the H techs installed in Seattle right now. Since the dealer wouldn't cough up a decent credit for labor the get to do the install anyways and spend hours on my car. They are saying it will take 4 hours and I've done them quicker than that with only a ratchet and manual spring compressor.

I may be wanting to take those KW's off your hands if the poke is too much with an H tech drop.

Yeah, I like giving these kids a chance to learn stuff that I wish someone would have taught me when I was their age.

Man, such BS about the dealer... once you have everything from them you really should post your experience publicly. Pretty ridiculous.

Yeah, let me know about the KWs. Sooner or later they'll find a home, might as well be with someone I know, haha!

Thanks Darren! Car looks soo good now that it's flush. The KW's aren't bouncy at all. Can't throw it into a corner yet due to rub but I'll get that sorted out. You rock dude!

Looks great man. Will look even better after the kit is back on.

stockysnail 09-07-2012 04:01 AM

I'm 34 so right there with you in age Darren. I used to work at Trojan for a short while and yes it's crazy not seeing the tower. When I heard it was made of asbestos though, I did a double take and am happy they got rid of it.

I'm still waiting for my red limited manual BRZ and probably will be waiting a while as red seems to be hard to come by. I took over a preorder in June that someone else decided to cancel and still no end in sight. Been riding my bicycle and borrowing my mom's car ever since June since I sold my R32 when the dealer said I could order one. If I would have known the order (waiting) process I probably would have tried to hold onto my R32 longer. At least I have a set of super light wheels with RE11s waiting for it from my R32, unless I'm able to sell them before the car arrives.

DarrenDriven 09-07-2012 01:28 PM

The waiting game is killer man, I placed my deposit in early February and got the car in late May. That was nearly four months! But nobody else was enjoying theirs' yet, so it made the wait easier.

Post up in here, too:

Those wheels are drilled for 5x114 and 5x100?

I forget which website they're from, same as Darren's set though, so maybe he can chime in.
Looks good so far though.

DarrenDriven 09-12-2012 02:10 PM
