Toyota's full synthetic 0w20 is $5.74/L

I had my oil changed on saturday and figured I'd go ask the parts dept how much their full synth 0w20 is by the bottle in case I needed to top up AND because I had read in a few places it was supposedly very good oil.

I was pretty shocked it was only $5.74!

I think most synthetic 0w20s at Canadian Tire are around $12/L

Not bad - if you were to buy a filter in addition to 5L of 0w20, it'd probably be around $35+tax? The dealership near me charges $64+tax for oil changes.

Yep, the Toyota oil is pretty inexpensive.

I buy my oil in 5L jugs at Canadian Tire when it's on sale and usually end up paying about the same.

I own a garage so I manage all the oils in bulk. The cheapest 0w20s are actually the dealer ones. Honda/Subaru/Toyota they all cost around $5 a bottle. I had to stock some Motuls because I'm an authorized Motul dealer and they are like $15 a bottle O.O

I buy amsoil...

an oilchange for me is around 60 bucks just for the oil...

This is why you see BRZs visiting Toyota dealerships to perform oil changes. ($55 vs $100 at Subaru)

Funny thing is, the parts at Subaru are cheaper than Toyota

- Camber bolts
- Touch up paint

I seem to recall local dealer parts guy saying $45/jug. Most likely 4.8 or 5 L. I guess they all have different prices. They charged me something like just under $13 Inc tx for a Tokyo Roki filter and crush washer.

Please tell us which dealer has that very low price. Hope they're nearby.

I buy my Toyota oil by the case (12 X 1L) from my local dealer for $5.05/L...still go next door to the Subi dealer for the filter/washer though, 'cause it is 1/2 the price. OEM brake rotors are $99 at the Subi dealer and $160 in a Toyota box.

$100 is criminal, my Subaru dealer charges $59.

Markham Subaru charges $100 for oil change. Thats their way of pressuring people into paying for the Service A performance which is only a few dollars more.
Scarboro Subaru only asked for $60 for the oil change itself.

Toyota on the park is like $61 taxes in for an oil change, they're fast too. I can drive there, get my oil changed, eat lunch in their cafe, pay and drive back to work in under an hour total.

I bought my FR-S at just the right time and got the whole Free Oil Changes for life

Yea cuz Toyota actually stocks a lot of parts (same day or next day) whereas Subaru makes you wait 2 weeks for the ferry to go across the Pacific.

I started buying minor parts at Don Valley North Toyota cuz it's a stone throw from my office and they are pretty good.

I find Markham Subaru odd to not even stock Subaru Idemitsu oil in bottles. Willowdale Subaru has them and the parts counter actually knows how to find parts properly.

I just read Service A, it's complete bullshit. I'll just get iGarage to write me a bill for records.
