Suede
Hey guys. I an tired of searching and googling and a bunch of stuff. The suede on the front seats of my car is real dirty. Not stained, but dirty. Every little guide that I see only shows you how to clean up suede when it's barely dirty or how to treat alcantara. As far as I know alcantara is a synthetic suede and is300 interiors are not synthetic. Correct me of I'm wrong. I want to know how to do a deep clean on the suede. Thanks

Thanks. What do u think if I use a steamer that I use for clothes? It's not a high pressure one like professional detailers use but it has a cotton pad that I can lightly brush across the surface

What exactly do you mean by 'dirty' then? Mine gets a bunch of little bits and what not from beach outings/hiking/pet hair. Generally I just vacuum it up and use a lint roller to finish off the rest.

Have you tried to vacuum it first?
I imagine the clothes steamer would work fine. If you have a shop vac and an upholstry attachemnt you can moisten the dirty area with the steam and then use the shop vac to suck it out of the fabric. I'd avoid loading the area with too much moisture (water or other) as it could soak the dirt deeper into the seat fabric and foam. There may be some detailer or interior care specialists here that would offer some better insight. I'm sure google can turn up some alcantara cleaning tips, I bet someone has written up a nice how-to. Edit- scratch that. the first how-to i found (on a Tesla owners forum) said steam works on suede, but can damage alcantara. |

And I have a strong vacuum but not the shop vac that everyone ises

Well I said a deep clean so I don't mean a simple vacuum but I plan to do that as the first step. There's only some loose stuff it just looks like sweat/dirt built up from over the years. The car has had 5 owners and it's an 02

Can we use hot water extractors on ecsaine, suede, or alcantara?
