Boosted owners in NY - how are you passing state inspections?
Now that we have cars at the two year mark that requires full emissions testing, what's been your experiences so far? Are the shops just doing OBD and calling it a day if everything returns OK (actually I believe you can miss one or two of them and still pass anyway) or has anyone run into a visual inspection that failed due to exhaust system alterations?

I don't know where in NY you are, but in NYC, its very easy to find a shop that only does an OBD scan for check engine lights, which if you have ecutek, are disabled.

Just a long term followup - had my first NYS inspection that included the OBD2 emission sensor readiness check. Everything passed. This is with a Vortech Supercharger and OFH catless header, Perrin high flow catted front pipe/overpipe/catback tuned with OFT.

I think for a catless header you will have one monitor disabled.
You shouldn't have any problems passing here in PA with just that monitor disabled. I think NYC is the same thing. |
I'm facing the dilemma of being out of state and still having my NY plates. Got a notice from the DMV that I won't be able to renew my registration once it expires unless they receive a notice of inspection.
I need a place that will pass me without seeing the car. |

I cannot believe AZ has standards that are anywhere bad as NY does. these northeastern states are kind of crazy.
