Can't Get Over 3000 RPM
Hey everybody,
So I drive an automatic FR-S and it's been doing fine up until 2 days ago. Now no matter how hard I push the car, it'll always shift at exactly 3000 RPM. I can't get over 3000 unless I use the paddles. Also when it does shift, it is the hardest, neck-breaking, shift ever. Definitely wasn't as smooth as before. I have about 3500 miles on the car as of now |

No mods yet :(
I should also note that the car is noticeably slower and makes a chugging noise |
Take it to your dealer!
|
Yeah, that mofo needs to go to the dealer. Sounds like a serious tranny issue.

warranty claim! it is a 2013 and you only have 3500 miles? mine is 2015 and i already have 1000 miles. are you the original owner or is it salvage title?

I would try mashing some more buttons.

Why you would come to a forum with a problem this serious before going to the dealer first is beyond me. It's clearly operating far out of what anyone would consider normal.

Sometimes other forum members point out that they had a similar issue and the OP can go to the dealer better prepared. Dealers can be assholes sometimes so getting input of the forum and going in feeling informed is a lot better. |
Maybe you accidentally put 87 octane instead of 91 or 93?

Funny thing, when I was driving up and down some steep hills today, the problem didn't seem as dramatic |
