Warranty + Modifications= ??
 

Good day guys, i would like to know if any of you can advise me on the following , it has probably been discussed before but just for confirmation sake, i don't like to take any chances.
What is the situation with modifications Vs Warranty? i called my dealership and inquired about the BRZ exhaust to fit on my 86 and they said it will definitely void my warranty. which doesn't make sense as the Standard exhaust says SUBARU on it, so would the BRZ exhaust. but Toyota say its a modification and will void,

can i bolt on an intake and unbolt it before service and have no issues?
Have you guys had any issues with exhaust systems and warranties etc??

Oh and particularly with refference to Sout African Dealerships, as something a NZ or Aus Dealership will do is miles different from ours

Worst case scenario is that only your exhaust will not be covered by your warranty. If you have a good relationship with your dealer they may cover it, but it is not in writing so it depends on how they feel.

If your current dealership wont support you try another one.
