My old mercedes was rwd and light in the back and it was horrible even with brand new blizzaks. I had to toss in 80kg of sand in the trunk - than it was managable...

clearly someone's never driven in the snow

also, hope you know the video is sped up. People keep thinking the car is raging at breakneck speeds when it's actually crawling like a turtle.

That route was impressive - is it your evening commute?

Tt3Sheppard 07-29-2014 11:30 AM

When you can keep the pedal down to the floor most of the track you are doing something right.

Or you're driving something that doesn't have enough power. My riding lawnmower could go flat out and I wouldn't have to lift at all in the corners, but it's still not fast.

Which one do you think will have the lower maintenance cost? just curious :)

corvettes have a maintenance cost?

pads, rotors and even the tires are pretty cheap for the C5 Z06 ..C6 Z06 with bigger 6 pot brakes and wider/bigger tires may cost a bit more since the variety is not that much but C5 Z06 is a great platform for those who look for a more powerful, proper sports car alternative..

OEM parts for the C5 Z06 are also dirt cheap

DarkSunrise 07-29-2014 02:07 PM

Just for reference (I'm considering a C6 Z06 down the line, so this was interesting to me):

Z06
R6's - $1598
Ultraleggeras - $2008
Hawk DTC70 - $580
Centric blanks - $244
Oil (10.5 q) - $83
--------------
$4513

FR-S
R6's - $1108
Ultraleggeras - $1100
Hawk DTC60 - $358
Centric blanks - $192
Oil (6 q) - $45
--------------
$2803
