This is my fire extinguisher, it is 1.5kg and has a hose.

In my track cars they lived within reach from my seat, in my street cars they live in the boot (trunk).

For car fires you really need a hose to successfully extinguish a under dash fire, or, to be able to jam it under the car or through the front grill.

For anyone who has had to actually use a fire extinguisher on a car fire you will understand my choice.

For the people who have not used a fire extinguisher on a car before, those small extinguishers that fit in your center console will most likely empty BEFORE the fire is extinguished, I put then in the same class as tow hooks on street cars, all looks, and pretty pointless.

Hopefully you will never need to use your extinguisher, but if you do, you want one that is fit for purposes and not just for looks.

Stay safe

Cool man. Thanks for replying. I'll see what happens. Might have to see if the gen 2 mounts are same.

I finally got around to making a nice mount that slides with the passenger seat. Attached to the seat base. For years I just had it attached to the adjuster handle with split collars but that’s a bit sketchy since it could potentially bounce in an accident and unlatch the seat. Feel much better about this setup. Could potentially make a run of these if there is some interest.
