Ooops... thanks for bringing that to my attention. Looks like I gave you guys the XMLs that don't have Launch Control or Flat Foot shift defined. Sorry about that. So I'm creating a v2.01 download which has the LC/FFC XMLs included. No difference in maps so no need to reload v2.01 maps if you already loaded up a v2.0 map. Wifi is slow here (at the dyno shop) so expect it to be up later tonight :)

Any different between the 1.58 stage 1 tune to the v2.0 with stock parts?

**patiently waiting for the OFH headers....

I'd venture to say that the stage one maps were the most revised of them all... so yes, significant differences.

Use the 91 map that will be safe.

once it had a few km log the 91 map if its knock free ie no fbkc knock correction or no flkc over say 0.7 and iam is solid at 1 then you could try the 93 map and see how it goes knock wise.

Their is not a great deal of extra hp in it maybe 5 at most

Just got E85

We just got an E85 station in our area. I fueled today and put my 1.59 tune in. Then I went online tonight to find this little gem released. I am in my car, as we speak uploading to my ECU UEL E85 stage 2 tune. My wife thinks I am crazy now. Wait until she hears the garage door open.

Thanks Shiv for all you do. I probably would have traded this car in on an NC if it were not for OFT + OFH.

Is there any difference with the stg 2 el e85 and stg 2 uel e85 tunes with these new maps ?

jdcorbitt3 07-25-2014 11:05 PM

1st Run 2.0

I just ran it. It is hard to believe this is a 2.0 L engine. It now has the pull of a 993.

Super job to all at Vishnu tuning.

I don't know. I have only ran the UEL tunes.

I ran the new stage v2 stage 1 map today and it was awesome, but I would like to try the v2 93 oct stg 1 map. I have no idea how to upload the map into the oft. Any help will be appreciated. I'm a total moron when it comes to computers. :(

Running 9
Stg1 91. I'll see in about 50 miles what the differences are from 1.59 and 2.

BolognaWalrus 07-25-2014 11:32 PM

still no LC or FFS for B01C. Kind of annoying, I paid good money for these features and haven't been able to use them yet!

Just tested LC with my B01C and it works great!

garfull 07-25-2014 11:41 PM

what difference between the stg 1 and stg 1 91? noticed there is a non octane maps, 91, 93 and E85. what would you use the non octane labeled maps for?

wat! what table are they located under? I checked everything and didnt see anything :(

Cockatoo 07-25-2014 11:46 PM

Well it's enabled in the rom by default.... But as far as changing the value, shiv just posted about needing new xml files

Shiv@Openflash 07-25-2014 11:55 PM

v2.01 Beta download folder is up: http://openflashtablet.com/Automotive/FRS/downloads/

Again, no changes to the map files so no need to load up maps again if you already loaded v2.0 Beta. All I did was update the XML files with Launch Control and No-Lift Shift definitions.

The maps will go non-Beta next week. At this point, the only change I expect to make is disabling the U0155 diagnostic code. In the previous map releases, that diagnostic code has usually been disabled by default. It's caused when there is a loss/interruption of communication between the ECU and a diagnostic device (in this case, the OFT). It's pretty easy to trigger if you unplug the OFT at the wrong time. It's annoying but totally benign. So feel free to disable it yourself (with ROM Raider) if you feel so inclined :)

I'm glad you guys are really enjoying the new v2.0 maps!

Cheers,
Shiv

Noticed that OFM no longer says something along the lines of "checksum corrected" when loading the .bin maps into the memory slots. Is that something that should still happen?

BolognaWalrus 07-26-2014 12:04 AM

yay! it works

Some of the OTS maps may already be checksum corrected as is. So I wouldn't worry about it.

toyotaAlex 07-26-2014 12:17 AM

I'm happy. 2.0 stage 1 91. Noticeable difference from 1.59 to 2. Well done!

windows8 patch 404s
is USB3.0 supported yet?

garfull 07-26-2014 12:41 AM

is it me or am i not noticing the valve timing coming on or kicking in as strong as before. i know it takes a while for the valve timing to reinitiate so i drove around for 15 mins which usually does it but i can't hear it anymore and the power boost isn't as dramatic. power deliver does feel much smoother though out, is that why i'm not feeling it? stage-1 91 oct 700C rom

also the real time charts are missing all the texts. going to try to reload the templates.

Shiv@Openflash 07-26-2014 12:48 AM

No need to upload the template file. There has a been a bug with the current firmware versions (v1.27) that requires you to unplug and replug the OFT after flashing the ecu in order for the datalog channel text to be displayed. It will be fixed with the next firmware update.

fast_dude 07-26-2014 12:48 AM

How do you upload 2.0 maps into oft?

my guess is he found power below where it used to "kick" so you don't feel it as much.

Same reason my car doesn't feel like it pulls as hard as it used to up top now that I have the nameless header. I have more power everywhere but particularly lower in the RPM so the top end doesn't feel as good despite having more power.

calmtigers 07-26-2014 01:14 AM

Is this only beta because its limited to USDM cars? I'm not sure if I should wait for the full version to flash!

EDIT: Just saw the earlier post, thanks shiv!

joe636 07-26-2014 02:31 AM

since they only have 90octane here should i just use stg1 or can i use stg1 91?

garfull 07-26-2014 03:19 AM

perfect thanks. great job, well worth the wait.

confirmed vvti still there, it was driving me nuts. switched between tunes and drove around back and forth. butt and ear dyno, i noticed the 2.0 tune has more consistent power delivery down low and right at the 4k mark which is why i don't feel the kick that i used to on the older 1.55 tune. i finally can pinpoint the vvti noise which is much more subtle on 2.0 than before where it would roar on.

Just out of curiosity, If I was to buy the Open Flash Tablet in the next coming days/weeks, would it automatically come with the OTS 2.0 Maps preinstalled? If not, would it be preinstalled with maps from V1.59?

All OFTs are pre-loaded with the latest non-beta map release. In this case, v2.0 is currently in beta so OFTs are pre-loaded with v1.59 by default. But if you were to request it to be pre-loaded with v2.0, we can make that happen :)

Kids Heart 07-26-2014 04:14 AM

v2.0 stg1 93 feels awesome. Can't wait for my OFH to come in.

DocWalt 07-26-2014 04:20 AM

Ok, since I must surely be missing something, how do I disable the U0155 code? Not seeing it in RomRaider anywhere...

Can't wait to load up the tune tomorrow anyway :) Too late to go load it up now, unfortunately.

edeekeos 07-26-2014 05:06 AM

Hey guys,

I know this is kind of a moot point, but how's the valve-train noise around the 3500-4k range. In the previous tunes it was LOUD, I know that it's sort-of the 'nature of the beast' so to speak, but I'm just curious to see if it's been messed with. I have everything downloaded and ready to go, but won't be able to test things out until later on this coming week.

troek 07-26-2014 06:49 AM

man i cant wait for the A type rom to be ready

VacantSky 07-26-2014 07:07 AM

@Shiv@Openflash when I download the non ESC 2.01 from the site all the folders say ESC on them?

This! I have experienced the same thing when switching to E85 from 93

Great work Shiv and Team.
Looks like the only thing you have left to do is the tune for NITROMETHANE!
Think about it.
