I hope you bought the overpipe too!

Already pulled some timing following instructions in this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61820

The only change was the header (did reset ECU prior to installation). Thoughts? Am I even using the correct map?

running a hi flow catted header their is no base map for you its going to be a trial of stage 1 and stage 2 maps , the stage 2 maps run more iming but also more fuel/richer . The richer map may stop some of the knock so worth trying stage2 map but be preared to pull up to 2 degrees from the map top end due knock. Us G series guys only get 1 map the 91 maps.

i would try the stage2 map as it also has different cam timing for header better flow, but pull some timing out of it above 5000 and prbably need a bit at 1500-3500 as well

93 fuel is way better than our 98 and even usa 91 is superor to 98, so you always have to pull timing unless you have 100 ron available.

Thanks Steve. I will take a look at stage 2 maps, pull some timing and try. Despite all that FLKC the car seems to run fine.

As said we don't get Stage 2 EL for G series. Might be worth it to create my own based on a USDM one.

Yes I got the overpipe too. Both coated. Fit and finish is superb.

the only difference between 91/93 maps is about 1.5 degree more timing in base timing B map in 93 tunes above 5000 high load

I had P2097 after installing OpenFlash Header. Both of those codes could be caused by a leak or faulty O2 sensor (most probable cause especially if you were just installing them in a header). I haven't solved my problem yet but I'm hoping it is a leak at one of the O2 sensors when I was screwing them in, I had some resistance but tightened with a wrench anyway. I think that might have messed up the soft aluminum threads on the sensors and there's a leak.

I bought 2 new O2 sensors, which I will be installing later in the week and I will torque them properly, unlike last time which I may have tightened them too much and deformed them that way. I also bought a O2 sensor thread chaser to make sure the threads in the header are perfect before screwing in the O2 sensors.

I think it may be an 02 sensor leak.

OFH, stock overpipe/stock mid pipe/buddyclub exhaust/stock airbox w/ hks filter/act clutch and flywheel/alum ds
93 octane

It started about 1000 miles after installing my OFH.

did you use new gaskets ?

as per other guys reply its best to run thread tap through o2 fittings to clean them up before o2 install.

Yes I did. Thanks for all your help in this thread!

Going to try that out. I was just curious if the car was safe to drive for now. It's the only car I have access to for the week.
