this may have been answered somewhere as I skipped a couple of pages but is the launch control an actual launch control (ie work with traction control and such to get the best launch) or is it more of a rev limit launch (2step)? thanks in advanced. hoping to have enough money saved to order OFT in the next 2 weeks.

  • If I am running 93/94 but with 10% Ethanol (screw you, Iowa), should I run the 91 or 93 stg 1 tune?
  • If I have a 2.5" Perrin Intake, should I use the Perrin-provided MAF scaling (as I did when running 1.59), or does @Shiv@Openflash's substantial modifications to the MAF scaling in 2.X mean I should use the defaults?
  • No matter what the answer is above, its still a good ideea to do manual MAF scaling to tweak the above values?
Thanks

Try the 93 and if it knocks reflash to the 91. Different cars and different fuels in different places will have different results. You won't know for sure unless you try it.

I would use the Perrin MAF scaling and then tweak it as per the MAF scaling thread.

It is really just a two step limiter. You could use the factory traction control but I suspect it will just shut off power and bog or you can just modulate the throttle yourself.

Thanks that's exactly what I wanted and what I was expecting. But the genius that shiv is I wouldn't be surprised if he figured out a way to set it all up.

alright i just got finished installing the borla uel headers and flashed the stg2 map...

i have a cel that cannot be read/cleared with the oft, it just says no error...

my cruise control no longer works... once i hit the cruise control button, the light comes on on the dash and stays lit... and it's orange, instead of green... i'm sure this has something to do with the launch control/ffs feature.

my frs is 6AT, btw.

any information to guide me in the right direction will be appreciated, thanks !

Nope D roms are for Auto's

C series roms are for Manuals. in USA canada

If your in a different country then you need to falsh your own contries specific rom

You obviously don't have an Open flash tablet as it would not flash incorrect map as it compares with your original map stored in tablet.

What device did you flash with

Your car is definitely manual ?
What country are you in
When was your car made

do you have a copy of your original ROM (map ecu file)

if so post it up and I will tell you what your original rom was.

If your manual it certianly was not a D series ROM, you have flashed an Auto rom to a manual car.

If the OBD port is still responding and you canread your rom info your in with a chance of recovery.

If you can no longer interact with the OBD port and read ROM then it likely going to be a new ECU required

I'm not him (so I can't say for sure), but he bought an OFT from me so I'm assuming that's what he used.

If he is using an OFT I don't know how he could have flashed a D rom into a manual car without resorting to a hex editor. Or he is just really confused :D
