anyone get a free in cabin air filter at 15k service

Replacing the in cabin air filter is supposed to be replaced at 15k miles. Anyone have their dealer do it for free as part of their free maintenance for 2 years scion service boost?

Hell no they didn't change mine because I marked mine to check, and they would always duck out on my radiator fluid.

I would just inspect it myself. If it is a bit dirty you can just blow it out with compressed air.

They replaced mine at 15k at no charge.

They did not give me a free cabin air filter on my 15k.

they say that they top off fluids, but i had to top off my own coolant..

Who has the part number for I. I wanna change my. I had 29k on the car now

litehoss 09-13-2014 01:13 AM

Yes they changed mine at second visit. 9300 miles 15 months. They also changed the Air Filter. Thinking that was a little early, but no charge. I was thinking maybe there was a problem with the filter or something.

On my final free oil change they did indeed change the Cabin filter as well, however I'm now at 41k miles. Should I have it replaced it again? How much can I expect to pay for this, and I assume it's not covered under warranty?

One thing I'm wondering also, is it really necessary to change the cabin filter after only a couple years? On most other people's cars it seems to work out just fine doing without a cabin filter change for years.

Depends on area and A/C usage. Also depends on if you're using fresh air or recirculate.

In Texas, if you wait a couple years, it's going to be clogged and you won't have much flow at all in the system. I've had people assume their blower motor was shot because of it.

It's cheap to replace, and it's the air you breath. Lots of people change them every six months to a year here in Texas because of the crap we have in the air.
