2 BRZ's 5k ransom at SUBARU OF GLENDALE
 

Someone pointed out to me that Subaru of Glendale in Glendale CA has two on their showroom floor. I inquired of course with a call carefully asking details knowing the dealer is already black listed. I got some BS about it being a so rare and they are the only one's who have them blah blah.. I said oh ok well how much are they? He (Phil) I think? Says "28 something or 29 something". I said oh okay well is that out the door? Can we negotiate that price? (me being a smart ass). He said "well the mark up is negotiable". I let out a cry and said mark up!!! what's that mean!!!? He said "well it's a hot commodity and that's what all the dealers are doing". I laughed and said no toilet paper is... went on to say a few things I won't repeat lol, something about negotiating the mark up and hung up. So the sad part is, they have two cars that someone probably ordered who are screwed because they're scumbags! I never post anything on forums but I think this is the time. A campaign must be strongly enforced to not only bring attention to these scumbags and how they do business but to make sure they are called out each and every time. Good business are the only businesses that should be getting business and we all should see to that. If I owned a dealer, and had two BRZ's in my showroom, and had to place the "HOT COMMODITY" on CARS.COM, Yes CARS.COM I would be so ashamed. If my dealer tries to pull this on me.. get ready for a youtube video going viral.

You are not alone. In the end honest and trust worthy dealers will come out on top. Let's hope that next year SOA uses a similar formula, 2012 BRZ sales, to determine which dealers get the most BRZ's next year so that the honest dealers are rewarded and the less honest get hosed.

Yeah it's just so scandalous. They have no shame whatsoever. I'm sure they will get what's coming to them. I hope the SOA call centers are overwhelmingly busy with peoples complaints.

Where is the markup of 5k? it's listed on Cars.com for 29ish, that's a ltd w/auto, including delivery...

Yes.. correct. It's listed minus the mark up.. and he even quoted me minus 5k over the phone. He was reluctant to tell me there was a mark up. I think they're just waiting for someone to come in who doesn't know anything about the car to just fall in love and buy it IMO. Not sure what the scam tactics are exactly.
