Sounds better set to TC
I've read the million posts about the stock radio coming set to TC by mistake.
I have a 2014 FRS with the bongiovi dps. The DPS was a dealer installed option. When I got the car I was disappointed with the stereo. I checked that it was set to FRS, and it was. I just sorta assumed that poor sound quality was just a fact of life. However, today for some reason I thought I'd fiddle with it a little and ran through setting it to other models. When I got to TC the difference was incredible. I don't mean like a little better, I mean like night and day. I read the dealer install instructions ( http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66124 ), and I'm wondering if they did it wrong, specifically the 'programming the dps' part. Has anyone else had this issue?? |
:iono: can the dsp be bypassed? try FRS setting without the dsp? when I was running the stock HU it sounded deeper IRRC on Tc, but muddy, FRS was clearer.

I can't find anyway to disable the DPS.... apart from opening up the dash and unplugging it.
Set to TC it's louder, clearer, and more balanced, whether set to natural, hear, or feel. I think I might have to take out the DPS unit and reprogram it. |
If it was programmed on tc I'd say leave it there. Besides, now when the battery is unhooked you don't have to reset frs mode.
