4.88s didn't hurt me at all

I just got home from a short trip, about a half a tank worth. I made the whole trip with cruise control set at 64 mph. All freeway, fairly level. With my 4.88's and AT this was 2500 rpm's.
I got 35.2 mpg! I am pleased.

Guess I'm not sure why anyone would think that they'd 'hurt you'.

Even with 4.88 rear end your 6th is still longer than the manual cars.

I expected my mpg to suffer some.

Yet another reason why the auto is superior :D

So is everything fixed now?

Yes.

I'm curious to know how long you've has your gears installed and what is your overall experience... Driveability, noise, any noticeable effect on rear diff performance (say, under hard turns, tight turns, etc)? Would you do it again? I'm very interested in gears for this car. I've got a manual, but same principles apply.

Yes I would do it again, maybe even lower. No noise at all, seat of pants acceleration feels much stronger.

I have a friend who has a dyno shop, and a manual FRS. He went to 4.57 in his. In a couple of weeks when I get over there I'll hook up my meter and get some timed runs from both cars.

I'm happy for you and Im'ma let you finish, but I got 35+ mpg at 75 with the stock manual soooo... (though to be completely fair, I had zero Ethanol as well so you probably still win. :D )

That sounds great, looking forward to seeing your results. Thanks!
