Is what you do for a living the same thing that you studied in school?
Nearly 100% of the skills required for my line of work was self-taught using freely available resources from the Internet.
|
Went to school to learn how to count beans, and Beans I r a counting.
|
Electrical engineering degree and still working in that field in a management position, but still pretty technical.
That said, most of the stuff I do on a day to day basis I did not study at school since my field (semiconductors) has changed a lot since I graduated. |
I guess...got a AAS in Mechanical Technology, and now I'm a design engineer (aka CAD jockey) for a race team.
|
Pretty much the opposite...
|
I have a AS in computer technology, majored in Cisco networking.
Haven't touched any Cisco equipment since I graduated. Sysadmin now. |
BA in English (yes, yes I know)
Currently a Marketing & Listing Specialist for a real estate team. Majority of my time is spent managing social media campaigns, CRMs, mailing lists, and lead conversion landing pages. |

|
Nope, and Nope.
BA in Electrical Engineering, MA in Teaching (secondary math, physics and chemistry) Currently teaching classroom and behind-the-wheel driver's education to new teen drivers. |
Bachelor of Commerce and I'm in banking, so yes.
|
BS in Computer Science and a BS in Management. Technical team lead for a team of engineers with management exposure and potential for vertical movement. So yeah. . .doing what I studied in college, but haven't really had to apply anything I learned in college. The degrees got me in the door, everything else has been self taught.
|
I have an MA in Victorian literature and an MA in Education/Teaching.
I currently co-own a property management company. |
Not even close.
I went to school for "Communication Studies" (aka Bachelor of Arts degree), which is basically for PR work or journalism or social marketing. I work at a bank as a process manager for retail lending products, basically I optimize existing processes through automation, simplification or elimination/outsourcing. |
Sort of. I have an automotive service tech degree, but I work as a service adviser.
