I just had my first night-time drive with the new LED bulbs. Not sure if anyone else has picked these up.
They cast a very wide, strong blue light. I was super impressed and I just hope they hold up over time. I didn't get any "too bright" flashes from other motorists yet - we'll see. I might try to take some pics this week but not sure what you'll be able to get from them.
Easy install although the bulbs sit a little loose in the connectors. I added some electrical tape to keep them from moving around. Plug and play.

I've seen the Subispeed video, but how blue are we talking? Like ricer LED blue, or just a hint?

I'm also curious to see these.

Considering they are LED I would doubt they are throwing off bad blue light, Probably similar to a 5,000K HID

It is not safe to use LED bulbs like this in your headlights. You are adding a lot of glare (way more than even HID) because the LEDs are directional, not outputting light correctly at all.

These bulbs are great for fogs or auxiliary lamps but they should not be used in high beams or low beams.

What kind of led do you specifically recommend then?

A company that sells plug and play HID kits is saying the glare from LED bulbs is bad. Wut.

directional led bulbs is really really silly.

I'm just going to post the manufacturer's image of the light output, it looks really accurate in my experience. I only have an iPhone for photos, so doubt I can take anything valuable.

You get a nice tone of light (not ricer blue) in a path about 10-15 feet in front of the car. Biggest issue I noticed was there seemed to be some reflections from the housing that spit light out the sides so you could occasionally see a reflection of the chrome housing or something. I can imagine that being distracting when passing someone.
I don't think the LED causes that "make me squint" affect in drivers come toward you, but we'll see.
FWIW, I have Diode Dynamics fog lights with halogen bulbs. I fail to see how putting these in those housings would be better at all.

You can see in your picture that the halogen hotspot is much more focused.

Yes, LED focus is much worse than even HID. We cannot recommend any LED replacements for low beam or high beams, the light is just too directional.

I think you mean omni-directional. It just sprays the light everywhere (but not vertically as I can tell), I see what you mean. Again, second night driving with these and no complaints (people veering away, blinking at me, etc). I kinda expect the cops to pull me over at some point, though, and ask what the hell they are.
Considering all the issues I read about HID setups I really wanted to avoid doing that and this is an interesting option. I understand if Diode Dynamics doesn't like it and I respect your guys' knowledge.
I am most worried about the bulbs' lifespan.

It was really bad, and why we didn't pick up a led line for headlights.. For the money, I haven't seen a LED kit come close to the lumens of a hid kit.. I think LED technology is great btw.. But until a projector is made for those LED bulbs, I think your hurting light performance more then helping..

As a general rule, LED is even weaker than halogens unless the headlight is specifically designed for it. Stay away.

I am pairing it with halogen fog lights - there's no shortage of light for me at least. On their own with just LED, I agree I would be concerned. Great info here, thanks everyone!
