Any CARB legal turbos on the way yet?

I have been looking at as many FI kits as I can. I have looked at the SC's that are CARB legal with their CARB tunes. I just don't like SC's parasitic nature and raising the center-of-gravity on the car more than a turbo.

Basically I want around 275-300WHP, that would be plenty. A kit that doesn't remove/replace the crash beam, and then something CARB legal (which from what I can tell searching for months, doesn't exist).

Trust me, I hate the whole CARB deal here in Cali, many of the rules and regulations don't make sense. Just curious if anyone has heard of any turbo manufacturers looking to get CARB legal at a later date.

From what I've read, STS's rear mount turbo is going through the process.

None of the front facing setups are going to be carb legal because they replace the stock header and remove the main cat in the exhaust system. I haven't heard of anyone even bothering with CARB.

PTuning deletes the front pipe cat with their kit and are on the east coast and have no intention of becoming CARB legal.

The only option is likely STS since their turbo sits behind the rest of the exhaust components.

If you really want to stay CARB legal I'd get a supercharger.

Unfortunately with deleting/modifying catalytic converters, becoming CARB legal becomes a multi-stage process, because you have to either prove that deleting the cats did not affect the car's emissions (which it does), or provide a new part that lets the car pass emissions. This new part also has to independently become CARB approved.

Effectively, the work is tripled.
