D1GP Round 2 Suzuka: Trouble For Three 86s

Car@Nifty posted a video compilation from Suzuka on Saturday: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxMc4cEslgA"]New86 turbo D1GP Crash again #lovecars #D1GP #drifting #GT86 #FR-S - YouTube[/ame]

Cleaned-up description/translation from the notes, and watching the video:

Tetsuya Hibino (Up Garage Falken turbocharged 86): unknown crash; front-right wheel dislocated.
Max Orido (Drive M7 V8 86): spun out into the sand, but the car seems okay.
Nob Taniguchi (HKS supercharged 86): blown engine (but he has a spare FA20).

I agree with the sentiment of the last line in the description: "Ganbare 86! Makeruna 86!" ("Go for it, 86! Do not lose, 86!")

Isnt that the second time tetsuya has ruined this car?

Yes; in Round 1 in Odaiba, he spun out and hit the right rear against the wall. This is the right front; perhaps he understeered a left-hander? ...*EDIT* ...after looking again, the nose is fine, so it wasn't a wall; maybe it was curbing or something else that caused a suspension part to fail.

Better news: Taniguchi finishes 7th after replacing the engine:

Yeah what's funny about losing to Daigo Saito or the round winner Takahashi?

yeah i dont get it either.... its not like drifting puts any extra stress on a motor causing it to blow or their isnt a million reasons a motor can blow other then just their supercharger. are you hoping their supercharger is not a success? :iono:

It's not that it's funny on it's own but there is a video posted that says something along the lines of 'why the brz isn't more powerful." It shows a guy in a lamborghini revving the engine and taking a left turn and he oversteers into the other lane right between two cars.

I fail to see how that's relevant with the supercharger remark.
