Dash Cam : Do you live them mounted?
I just got a new dash cam and I am wondering if yall leave it mounted when not driving.
Obviously, if you wired it so you could record while you are gone, you would have to. But for those who only want to record during the drive, do you take it off? I am a bit concerned about the heat getting to the camera long period of time under hot california sun. Share you thoughts/ideas/experiences. Thank you |
I just installed a g1wc dash cam today and live in sunny Miami. I'll let you know of my experience as i do plan to leave it installed all the time unless I need to pull files from it.

Yes, I remove it. If I'm home, I bring it into the house. If I'm out, I put it in the glove compartment (less chance of theft too).
|
It's been in my car 24-7 since November. I even have it mounted while I'm at the track.

Mines mounted all the time. One of my neighbors informed me that it looks like one hell of an extra theft deturant to him. So far so good. *knock on wood*
|
i leave mine on all time. no problem at all.
|
Mine stays up 24/7.

Mine used to be up 24/7 until last year to record parking too. But then the internal batteries went bad from the heat in August and September. Now I have no dashcam for now. :(
