Mowing crews
It was bound to happen. Our first dents. Mowing crew on I-65 in NW Indiana threw a chunk of wood into the passenger's door on my BRZ. I have already started a tort claim with the state to try and get reimbursed for the damage, but I'm not to sure they will cover it. The process takes around 90 days to get a decision. Oh well, at least the weather is gorgeous.

That sucks man. Update the thread with how it goes - I'm interested to see how the state responds to the claim.
Not that I'm a lawyer, but I suspect the state's argument will fall somewhere along the lines of assumption of risk, in that the mowers (and therefore the State) does not have any [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duty_of_care"]Duty of care - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]. |
I'll be damned
Just got a letter from Secretary of states office. Looks like the mowing crews are required to carry insurance per the state contract. Hopefully we will get it fixed.

Holy shit, a year later??
I think I would have given up by now. Good on you for sticking to it. |
Settled on $500 from mowing crew. Dents were very small and wer decided against fixing them. Insurance company was adamant we could not prove it was the mowing crew that caused the problem.

Pdr for half the cost?
