Where? I don't own one, not even FI yet. As far as I know ATL BRZ does not as well so .....Me.....Just a guy who will go FI in future and has read a lot, spoke to people here through messages, on phone, and seen kits in person, I like many like to make educated decisions.

I like a lot about KW kit however living in a cold climate, a non thermostatic option is a sale killer for that reason. Over cooled oil is as bad or worse then too hot, and well that's fact is all.

so what does this mean? youve ruled out the KW kit? are you leaning towards a different one? please share

If KW does not produce their own TC oil kit by time I'm ready then at that time yes I would rule that out as honestly I feel that is important based on my climate being cooler then many, even in summer mornings and evenings. Supporting mods to FI are essential to long term success. Other SCs I'm considering are the JR kit (since it has all supporting mods including TC oil kit and hasn't had any issues, as well as new HKS V2 kit looks very promising as well. For turbo the options like Ptuning also look great due to low placement and proven track worthy. My future plans for my car are to be a play/track type car only.

I have nothing to gain by saying negatives or such just sharing what I know there are several folks in groups here now FI with their cars and there are so many options now it's over whelming really. However I was only trying to share that one aspect (TC oil cooler) which may or may not matter to you and your needs. Otherwise sure KW looks wise looks good, but function is IMO more important and the idea of a second belt also gets promoted a lot however still to this date haven't read or seen a single owner of the single serpentine belt systems have failure either so....

Good luck with whatever you do, whichever way you go you'll be happy cause you are taking your time and asking questions which is awesome, so many just buy whatever with no clue then are filled with regret.

like which one? AFAIK, the OEM Forester XT /WRC oil cooler is the biggest sized sandwich plate and I had no problem installing with KW kit ;)

and one correction, KW recently released their oil cooler kit which costs less than other other oil cooler options .. I personally haven't tried that one yet and yes it doesn't come with a thermostat @Digital assassin added his own Derale remote thermostat, it costs whopping $60 on Amazon :lol:

I've spent countless hours speaking to people about various kits, vendors and manufacturers, examined peoples kits in person and had great learning discussions. To me it's about making the absolute best decision and being well educated on it.

There are a few that do not seem to present any issues given you as an owner examine your kit and know it inside and out. The one fact that remains solid in my mind is that the proper supporting mods day 1 ie: TC Oil Cooler, Catch Cans, Radiator (if needed) quality DD drive able clutch (if not track) etc etc all are as well just as important to the experience so at that point cost becomes a tad moot as ones jumping into the big fun pond?.... :D

Yes he did and it looks like a great option. Point being it shouldn't be up to a customer to get told to figure it out themselves when some other manufacturers do it for you as a package proven deal? When I saw Digitals solution...I actually thought KW may jump on DAs idea and scoop a whack of those up and provide them....be a smart move IMO.

I agree, but adding a thermostat is not really big of a deal, I personally like the water to oil types like OEM options instead of stacked plate/ external air to oil type oil coolers but it seems like the OEM oil cooler (even with adding a bigger radiator ) is not enough for hard track use (I 've just learned that I made a mistake) :) I will soon upgrade to a stacked plate type cooler even I am not a big fan of them ( possibility of failure, lower oil pressure ..etc)

Any kit that uses a Mocal sandwich plate or similar with the line connections facing forward will not work because the KW SC mounting bracket is in the way. So the Perrin, Mishimoto, Full Blown, and HKS are all incompatible.

It looks like KW pre-released* their prototype oil cooler kit to DA for testing. I'm not aware of it being officially for sale yet.

Amen. Once you start to cut costs things go hairy. And yes, other areas need to be upgraded/addressed when deciding to add more power to the car.
