That doesn't make any sense at all :) I wonder if you spoke someone from customer service because some of the people are clueless about the details about their products.. "Cogged belts are not recommended because they may not slip/fail as much" joking aside I would like to hear the reasoning behind that

If that's the case, it should be correct because they know a lot better than customer reps..

No rumours or crap, and the kit had one of the best tunes out there. The owner is pretty active if he would like to chime in thats up to him.
I wouldnt go talking shit about something if it was only rumours.

Cogged belts have an issue when you snap off the throttle.
Theynalso cause vibration to the internal planetary mechanism because the outside of the cog is larger than the inside, so you dont get the smooth transition that you get with a serpentine belt.

Rotrex or not, there are a lot of people having issues in a roadrace type of a situation.

Makes you wonder why the person who brought Rotrex into the US left KW and is using a non cogged application for their kits.

Just sayin'

no issues here ;) I personally like KW kit better and I don't really care who brought what.. that doesn't prove anything in my opinion, that person could be anyone who have enough funds and connections..

One thing no ones asked.. To the OP do you plan on using your car in winter? Seeing how your location lists NY winters are real there. You should note KW does not make a thermostatically controlled engine oil cooler setup that works with their kit. Just something to consider in the whole process is all.

Didn't take long for the JR guys to show up

To add to that, the elusive non-thermostatic skunk2 oil cooler adapter plate is still not officially for sale yet as far as I know. It's the only adapter that works with the kit since the giant SC mounting bracket blocks all traditional style sandwich plates. Apparently KW do not have plans to make a full plug and play oil cooler kit with lines and core with mounting solution. Those who have asked have been told by KW to figure it out themselves.

Just to confirm my understanding.

I have to remove my mashimoto oil cooler if I want to use KW super charger?

That's correct. You would have to run without an oil cooler until KW release their proprietary adapter plate. Then you'd have to figure out the lines, core, and mounting solution yourself.

i was going to get the kit and use the mishimoto oil cooler. this all seems pretty random. ive seen and heard from so many KW SC owners and none of them have anything bad to say.

FYI call and order the oil cooler sandwich plate if you want it. It's that easy.
