borla vs trd?

Im looking for an exhaust setup for my car that I can get without voiding my warranty, the dealer offer the borla and TRD, can anyone here shed some lights on these 2 exhaust? Which one is louder or has more drone, ect. Thanks!

An exhaust isn't going to void your warranty. Even if they try to give you crap, it's law that they have to prove that the exhaust caused the problem. An exhaust really can't cause any issues.

try and pick up a used TRD from someone here...will be WAY cheaper

Or, get a different exhaust all together.

Like others said, they can't void warranty unless they can prove the aftermarket part cause failure

I have the borla cat back. It sounds good on its own... Has a deep growl but i was hoping it would have been louder. I added the borla uel and it is perfect. Its louder. It has the rumble. It just sounds amazing! With the borla catback on its own it is a nice system. No drone during highway drives but when you give 'er some throttle she wakes up. Im totally happy with my borla catback working in unison with the borla uel header.

Came down to Corsa, TRD and Borla for me when selecting an exhaust. To me Corsa sounds the best outta the 3 with a slightly exotic tone. The Borla and TRD are tied for 2nd for me tho they sound completely different. The Borla sounds raucous in a good way and is very affordable. The Borla probably offers THE BEST SOUND FOR THE BUCK. I listened to every Borla video on here and tho they are subjective, they all sounded the same and very good. A Borla can be had for approximately $500 and you won't find any exhaust to dissuade you from that sound at that price point. I ended up with TRD simply because it TOO sounded great, very mature bassy sound without being boomy and obnoxious. I had a dealer credit that covered the entire cost of the TRD and it doesn't put my warranty into question. Simple as that. The TRD is very well matched to the car and sounds appropriate. I also like the "D" shaped tips the most as they fill out the diffuser the best IMHO. Listen to ALL THE VIDS YOU CAN and good luck. Hope that helps. Certainly CANNOT go wrong with either. Give Corsa a listen too but it is almost as pricey as the TRD depending upon where bought.

As others stated go with another brand or pick something up on here cheap. I heard a lot of systems before I decided....Perrin FTW! Jus my 2 cents I've seen some whole cat backs on here for like $600 wish I looked here before buying mine direct....

Good luck:cheers:

TRD - Toyota-sponsored. Expensive from the dealership. Difficult to find used. Unique shaped tips.

Perrin 2.5" catback - great sound, easiest to find used. A bit more aggressive than the TRD. Sponsors sell it for a pretty decent price on this forum.

Borla - some dealers sell it. More aggressive sound than TRD. Affordable price.

Invidia Q300 - quietest exhaust. Can choose between stainless steel or burnt titanium (the rainbow looking effect) tips. Great deals from sponsors on the forum. People love this combination if they are planning on upgrading the rest of the exhaust later on (header, overpipe, downpipe, etc.).
