Whitewater Kayak in cargo space?
 

Does anyone transport a small whitewater kayak in the trunk with the rear seats down?
If so which ones fit?

I know there are inflatable varieties of kayaks and even some that split in half, but I'm not interested in that.
I also know that you can get a u-haul hitch and try a small trailer or go for some sort of roof-rack. Again, not interested in those.

Aren't they like 10 feet long at least? Also width/height wise I doubt it would clear going through the trunk. You're definitely not going to transport it there.

I think someone put in a 10 foot surfboard, but you ain't gonna fit a kayak.

I've fit a 6 foot ladder in mine with seats folded down, passenger seat leaned forward, and headrest removed for visibility of mirror. You could possible fit something a little bit longer, but not much more, and a ladder is not that thick. If you went corner to corner might be able to squeeze in a little longer.

I'm the one that posted the picture of the jackson rockstar (large) in the FRS. It does indeed fit, but yes the passenger front seat is very far forward (unusable). In a medium sized playboat, that may not be the case, but you should plan on not being able to transport anyone else with the boat in there. I've put a liquid logic jefe in it too, but with it hanging out of the back of the trunk the rest of the way. Shuttles become a pain though.

I managed to get the box for my TRD exhaust crammed in with the front passenger seat pushed all the way forward and leaning as far as possible. Was even able to close the trunk.
Not a kayak I know but about 7 feet long, 2 feet wide and a foot deep so I guess it is possible.
