PERRIN Mladen's '14 Limited BRZ (Vortech)

Alright...So... I got my BRZ on December 28th, 2013. It was an extremely impulsive buy, but I do not regret it, as I love my car.

I also have a YouTube channel that follows the installs of parts on my car :D

Back to the story.......
After hanging out with co-workers, I was headed home and decided to stop by CARR Subaru around 1am. Just a random "browse the selection" type of drive in.. Next thing I know, I see a '14 Black Limited BRZ... I instantly got excited as I've wanted one in black for a while, since @PERRIN_Chris got a white one :paddle:. So I tried to pull it up online and it didn't exist. I was quite sad :sigh: I left all teary eyed and went to bed shortly after. Next morning, idk why I bothered to check the website again, but it was there! At that point, I pretty much got up, got dressed, and headed over to buy my BRZ! The rest... is history.

My background in cars is very scattered... From VW...to tC.. to BMW... to Subaru... to Mitsu...to Audi... To Mitsu... To Subaru!

I tried to find some photos of my car in stock form... but I failed. Going to keep looking, but for now, all I have is the photos below.

I have quite the list left in regards to mods, but they will all eventually get be purchased! I have a few things left to do as mentioned above (5mm spacer and dial suspension in a bit more) but I am overall happy with the car and the decision to buy it.

As of right now, I'm quite happy with almost all of my mods!

The only 2 things that have started to really irk me are 1) The spoiler not sitting flush. (Will provide photos later) 2) The chipping paint on the Muteki lug nuts. Both of these things mainly bother me just because of how OCD i am about my car.

I drove @dvisdboy Vortech Supercharged BRZ last night and can honestly say that is the mod that I am MOST looking forward to. I personally haven't decided if I want to turbo or S/C my car, but I do know that F/I is 100% needed to keep me smiling with this car. The cars (@dvisdboy) were night and day difference! I honestly don't know what I'm doing wasting my time not getting a kit....Oh wait.. yeah the cost.

Even with the automatic, the car felt substantially better! The shifts were very clean and the power was delivered flawlessly. Can you tell how excited I am for F/I?!?

I will update the thread as often as I can and try to keep the mods coming!

Post comments below and I'll do my best to reply/keep everyone updated.

I'm diggin' your wheel setup. It's simple but yet so perfect. Making me regret getting WRB man.....

Every once in a while I regret getting the CSB.... Then I wash it.

I really drool over the GBS when it's done really well! I just think that color blends really well with lip kits and what not.

The WRB is currently one of my favorite colors on the new STI.

Bring back the Perrin front pipe and V-Band everything from the overpipe rear flange to the catback!

Looks great so far. Also highly recommend your rear shifter bushing combined with Whiteline's positive shift kit. Love the feel of the car afterwards. Fairly cheap mod, and can be felt right away.

I definitely have plans to put the SRLD on the car! Just taking it somewhat slow and making sure that I provide installs with almost all the PERRIN parts as I do them.

Thank you for the recommendation!

I've asked many times man :( I don't see it happening anytime soon. I've personally been looking into seeing if I can find a used 3" front pipe somewhere.

I'll be looking into that! Thanks!

Why'd they stop making the front pipe in the first place?

PERRIN_Mladen 07-15-2014 04:23 PM

If anyone is curious -

The install of the mirror covers was pretty straight forward once we were able to clarify the instructions to where they actually made sense. Some parts they did not show what wiring needed to happen, and that delayed the process.

Another slow part was the feeding of the wires through the tubing on the inside of the door that leads into under the steering column.

The fit on the covers themselves was really good! The mirror hard parts lined up with the holes inside the mirror covers and fit without any issues. There is no gap between the cover and the mirror base!
