Whistling noise...
 

Within the past 1000 miles, I have been hearing a whistling noise that gets louder with higher RPM. I have installed a Greddy Air intake system (removed system, reinstalled, no luck.) and a Perrin 3 inch exhaust system. The noise started about 1000ish miles after the exhaust was installed. It sounds like the noise is coming from behind the steering wheel. I brought it into the dealership under the warranty, and they told me that nothing was wrong with it and I should ignore it. Anyone have any thoughts/recommendations? I'm going to try and show up for the next meet up, I really want to show you guys my Nexus 7 install anyways...

have you checked for exhaust leaks? could also be the intake. My KN Typhoon hoons in at 4k rpm plus

Did you get this noise fixed on your vehicle? I too have a similar noise on my vehicle and have a 2.5 inch Perrin Catback installed. This has been happening to me for the past few thousands of miles but I have had the exhaust installed for quite a while now and it did not give me issues in the beginning. I also recently changed my trans and diff fluids but no improvement.

As for the noise, its a whistling noise for me that happens only when I'm ON throttle in 6th gear, between 3200-3600 rpm (72-82 mph). It's loudest at 80 mph and then tapers down pretty quickly.

Did you find anything with your exhaust? Was anything loose that fixed it? The noise is getting annoying so I'm really trying to find a fix for it. Don't have time to take it to the dealer any time soon so I'll have to wait on that.

But seriously, I have Perrin and don't get a whistle. Probably not tight enough on the shitty V-band clamps.

I have an oem exhaust and mine makes the same whistling noise in 6th once I hit 3000 rpm.
