Hawaii HD channels or not good reception?

Just got my 2015 FR-S in Asphalt today...my god is it beautiful :) Anyway I noticed that 101.9 and 105.9 seem to shift in and out of HD as I drive...Its kind of irritating because they sound so good in HD but in non-HD they sound...well not so good. I know from working in the cell phone industry for many years that Hawaii's topography makes it very difficult to get good RF reception all over the island so I'm wondering if you guys have noticed the same thing? This is my first HD radio system so I wasn't sure if it was normal or if maybe the new shark fin antenna doesn't get as good reception.

Thanks for any info!

So no comments? Is this normal for HD radio out here? Looks like it primarily happens with 101.9 for me.

This is normal. I listen to 98.5 and it switches all the time. Same thing happened when I had the Genesis sedan.

OK thanks...thought that might be the case...man is it annoying.

Yeah, I don't bother with HD, its never strong enough to get good consistent signal.
