First warranty service maintenance

I'm about to hit my 5000 miles mark soon and would like to take full advantage of the Scion/ Toyota service. What should I ask for beside a oil change and oil filter change? I'm too lazy to look through the forums and would like a straight answer which could help other on lookers.

I was thinking about asking for tire rotation, flushing the transmission fluid, and maybe brake fluid.. Any other recommendations? Would be helpful alot!

Warranty work is for something that breaks that isn't your fault.

What you're talking about is the scheduled maintenance. It covers an oil change and tire rotation and top off fluids. Transmission isnt until like 60k miles or something and brake fluid is at 2 years.

I was told transmission was at 30-35k

30k or 60k... still not close to 5k.

Listen to Jesus!!

You can either follow the minimum factory recommended schedule as outlined in your warranty booklet, or just follow your dealers recommendation which sometimes includes lots of unnecessary add-ons and performing maintenance more often than necessary.

What would be helpful is if you used the search function... because you're confusing warranty work (when something breaks) versus scheduled maintenance (upkeep/preventing something from breaking).

But hey, just post away and be lazy.

He is confusing those 2 things but also a third, completely unnecessary early maintenance the dealer would be happy to charge him his first born for.

OP, go ahead and ask for those services when you take the car in. Just be sure to carry a few bills so you can afford to get your car back when they hand you the invoice.

dont go before the 7.5K 15K and 22K intervals

i went at 7.5K to get it done, no problem at all, went back at 12.5K and they wanted to charge me for the oil change,

they will only honor the "free" oil changes at the designated mileage

Actually, YMMV, depending on the dealership. I went a couple of thousand miles early because the miles on the sticker was no longer legible. They told me that I came in early, but would do the maintenance anyway.

they did my my maintenance anyways at 12.5K but they wanted me to pay for it, i ended up not having to pay for it, told me it was a one time free service, said if i come early again they will charge me,

If OP is too lazy to search the forums or read the manual, I'm guessing he's too lazy to wash his own car.

My dealer did my 15k mi. service for free :happyanim:

They did: Latest ECU ROM update, Oil & filter change, Air filter, tire rotation, and checked everything else.

After that I did my own MT & Diff fluid change to Motul 300.
ALL of that cost me $80
