Subaru BRZ
I have a Pearl White 2013 SUbaru BRZ. With stock Rims; I am curious about painting my break Calipers , White to match my paint.
Any thoughts on this? Or any DIY that is detailed since I am pretty new to cars. Also thought about Plasti-Dipping the SUBARU and BRZ to black on the back of the car? What do you think? |
Dude do whatever you want. If you don't like it just peel it off. Simple as that.

wheels, not rims. These aren't dubs. Painting BRAKE calipers adds 9,000 hp and is a little juvenile and trashy to some. Reminds people of the Honda civic crowd during the fast and the furious days. I think the factory calipers should have been painted black though since they always seem to look dirty.
Color matched will be extremely hard since youre limited on paint options since it must be hightemp paint. Remove the wheel, blast the crap out of it with brake cleaner and scrub it with a scotchbrite pad. Remove the caliper and pads and mask off everything around it. Then use hightemp paint and reassemble. |
1) relevant thread title please
2) Don't ask what everyone else thinks about what you think you want to do. It's your car. And like I said, it's your car, but please do not paint them white. They WILL ALWAYS look bad due to brake dust. |
You are free to do what you want to your car and we are free to laugh at you when you do something tasteless.

Our calipers are relatively small and they don't say BREMBO on them.
Personally I would want to draw the least possible amount of attention to them. Bone stock aluminum gets my vote... |

If you do end up doing it, best of luck and enjoy. I miss my calipers from my '07 WRX. |

Yeah I agree, do what you want...
Since I bought my car, my calipers dont look as nice and uniformed in color...has anyone tried to just use some matte black or black to just hide them/make them look a bit cleaner? I agree, unless its a nice brake kit, I think black would look okay if it wont get super dirty looking from the brake dust. |
I vote silver or black on calipers that's what I'm going to do. My 2nd s2000 had powder coated silver so they looked clean and stock. My evo x had brembos I miss how easy they were so easy to clean. I'll be doing mine soon the brush kit is really easy to do I suggest that
