Replacement windshield with "green tint/green shade"

I have to get my windshield replaced, and Safelite lists two versions of the glass:
  • Windshield solar, with third visor band green tint/green shade
  • Windshield solar, with third visor band green tint

Does anybody have the "green shade" version, and if so, can you post or IM me a pic? My current windshield does not have the green shade, and I'm not sure how the shaded windshield looks on this car.

safelite is complete junk. lots of deformities/inconsistencies in the form that creates blurry spots.

highly recommend finding a glass shop that offers pilkington.

Thanks for the suggestion. Can you post a pic of the Pilkington glass with the green shade?

^^^don't know if it's offered with a tint but can vouch for the quality.

What's even more bullshit is that so many of us are having to replace our windshields....

Nice big crack in mine too. Settled with getting it repaired vs replaced for now.

Are the replacements any stronger?

Wow! I looked up Safelite and those guys are horrible! Stay away from them!! Shoddy workmanship, bad business practices, and inferior windshields. Goes to show you how far advertising and no perceived competitors gets you.

Do not use safelite. I have a PPG replacement windshield in my M3 and it's amazing.

I have a Pilkington windshield on my GTI from Safelite, it's an upgrade from stock since I now have a painted tint band on the top.

I like the band because it hides my EZ Pass but other than that I don't notice it.

I appreciate the suggestions and even dug a little deeper to find a different glass company to do the installation. What's even better is that the Pilkington glass is $150 cheaper than Safelite.

However, even with this other installer, the same question remains. I don't know what the green shade band looks like on this car. Does anybody have the green shade on an FR-S or BRZ? If so, can you post a pic?

I can try to take a pic later today of it. I had mine replaced by Safelite a few weeks ago and went with the green tint. I didn't pay for the glass, so next time it breaks (which I know will happen, VA roads have so many rocks on them), I'll have to look into the Pilkington glass.
