Kakimoto Racing Japan

Hey guys,

This is my first post, been lurking around the forum for about a month and got my 86 about 2 weeks ago here in Dubai. Been loving the car, its my first RWD FR car and its definitely alot of fun to drive. Plan to get a hand full of track days down with this car before I start with the big mods but for now I dont think a little more power would hurt. Plan will be a full exhaust with headers untill i decide who will tune my car.

I'm very fond with the single exit exhausts and Tomei was what i was set on (either the 60s or 80) but i came across a really cool exhaust while surfing JapanParts. It is the Kakimoto single exit exhaust, couldnt find anything about it on the forums nor on youtube. I got onto there Japanese website and started clicking buttons untill i came accross information about it. Its quite loud to be honest specially since my plans dont involve any cats. Plan is this exhaust tomei headers and overpipe and the quietest front pipe i can find without a cat, maybe the HKS double resonated unless there is something quieter.

Dual exit fart can style: http://www.kakimotoracing.co.jp/image_b22344.html
Dual exit big single muffler: http://www.kakimotoracing.co.jp/image_b71344.html

Thought it'd be nice to share my find with everyone looking for a single exit option!

I think some people have it. As a rule of thumb everything Kakimoto makes is really loud. :)

I'm pretty sure the Kakimoto (single exit) is quite loud, probably louder than the Tomei 60s. I have the M7 T-Titan and I'm going to compare the Kakimoto to it and say that the dual exit from the Kakimoto is probably going to be loud, similar to the M7.

Do you think it would be alot louder than the 60s?

From a performance and personal preference stand point, single exhausts are the way to go- judging from your goals. Forget the Kakimoto and buy the Tomei 80. The Tomei 60s is probably slightly quieter than the Kakimoto single exit.

thing with the tomei 80 is that its 3 inch which i dont need cos plans will be to stick n/a for several reasons, the kakimoto looks gud, reading about there history on other platforms there quality is top notch and its about 380 dollars cheaper than a tomei which is a plus.

ill be sure to update u guys with what i decide.. time to get those tomei headers though :)

Kakimoto is very loud. Single exit JDM type sound, but the dual is actually pretty nice and rumbly

I really wanted a Kakimoto exhaust until the Tomei was released(easier and cheaper for me than importing the Kakimoto), and read many great things about their products on other platforms. So if tomei hadn't touched this platform yet when I purchased my exhaust I would have bought a Kakimoto single exit.

That kakimoto dual exit sounds pretty quite to me to be honest. I can hear the engine which u cannot in most videos over the sound of the exhaust. I have to import to Dubai either way, i might aswell order something different :) Cheaper to order from Japan than the U.S anyway

I have the kakimoto dual exit regu and it is not loud at all, i have jdl headers with it and its really nice and rumbly :)

From reading on other forums, on skylines and a few other JDM cars, they are usually well built more quite mufflers, my kakimoto single exit should have already been ordered, ill double check the status from the shop thats ordering it :)
