Alignment settings for Auto club speedway

So I am heading to Autoclub speedway next weekend, will be my first time there. I'm running through my usual prep list this weekend and am thinking/have hear that the alignment that you'd want to that track is different from the alignment you'd do for most road courses (like Thunderhill or Buttonwillow). Anyone have any comments on what an optimal alignment would be?

Just run what you have. Which configuration is it?

Next week I'm going to be installing rear LCAs, rear toe arms with ecentric lockout and caster camber plates on the front. Because of this I need to choose an alignment. I was going to do a fairly aggressive track alignment but I am hearing that might not be the best for Auto club.

Unless you are a suspension guy or driven someone's car with exact specs showing up with numbers on paper won't always net the result you want. I once drove an autocross car, got the specs, and thought this is what I wanted for my street car. Eeek. The car was a nightmare to commute in.

So, my 2-cents.... just talk to the alignment specialist and tell him what you use the car for.

For example, I say... my car is pretty much 95% daily driven, I see 2 or 3 track events a year at XYZ track(s). I drive 20 miles a day to work and back. So I want as best a handling as I can get while getting at least 18 months out of my tires. I'd prefer the car to stick versus slide. Can you do that? :)

You do realize the threads, no matter the age, do show up on Google Search right?

Which is how I found it - looking for alignment numbers for comparison.

Use a pyrometer if you want to get the best numbers for your setup. Otherwise our recommended settings get people about 95% there. The other 5% is really just tailored to your own car setup and driving style.

Since this thread has already been revived once I thought I would do it again then to start a new tread.

Is this track fun with no power mods? It seems like this track is mainly straights, and few turns. This will be my 6th track and all I've done to my car is pads, fluid, and tires.

Make sure you go out with another BRZ/FR-S to bump draft at 130 mph as well for real fun. :thumbsup:

Well I'm not going with a another BRZ/FRS, but I'll be going with a 2008 M5, 2012 911 turbo s, and 2011 wrx.....So I'm a little underpowered. :lol::cry:

Until you're WOT in the banking, you still have more speed to gain.

Remember, everyone loves to talk smack on NASCAR, but their AVERAGE speed on that oval is over 180mph.

Qualifying Record: NASCAR: Kyle Busch, 188.245 mph - 2/23/05
