Lucy is in heaven now

Just finished putting my dog Lucy down an hour ago.

I have a friend who's a vet tech, and he came and helped with putting her down so her last moments weren't being freaked out going to the vet.

Lucy was a lab mix, and was 18.5 years old! She lived a long, happy life.

It hasn't hit me emotionally yet, but I'm sure it will.

Right in the feels :(

sorry for you loss :(

Very sorry to hear Mike. Glad you were able to have the help from a friend.

Sorry about your loss. I'm an animal lover too and I know how you feel.

Sorry, Mike :(.

Been there and I know what you're going through.

Terrible - but 18.5 years? Talk about a run! That dog squeezed it to the max. Sorry man.

Vampyre 07-03-2014 10:59 PM

Sorry man.

Thanks very much.

A lot is going on right now, this today, plus I'm going in for open heart surgery in a few weeks, but it's all good, nothing I can do about either.

My little Jack Russell (the other doggy in the pic) Skooter is taking it the hardest. She's confused.

Lucy did have a great, long, happy life, almost made it to 19.

Such is life.

This hits ME, right in the feels. At least you can rejoice in her long life.

dbrandt01 07-04-2014 12:22 AM

This hits me hard too. I like my dog more than people most of the time. I hope my lab/bull dog will live that long of a life. She lived a great life and the memories are well worth it. Celebrate the life she had and the life you had with her.

This is from the day I got him to a year and a half later and hope many years left to go.

Sorry man. Losing a pet always sucks, but I'm sure you have tons of great memories. Sounds like she had a great, long life.

Atticus808 07-04-2014 01:26 AM

sorry:(

I had to put my dog down and it really really sucked. this was in 2009 and I still think of him.

he was very sick and I knew something was very very wrong when I was outside with him one night and he looked at me a certain way others probably couldn't understand because of the bond we had.

I'm an animal lover and can't wait to adopt 2 from the humane society when I get my house.

AVodka14 07-04-2014 01:30 AM

Glad you were able to have that much time with her. I bet it is a difficulty time. I am sure there are a lot of good memories. My thoughts are with you buddy.
