Windshield replacement in GTA

Anyone had their windshield replaced yet?

Mine has a nasty crack and I'm worried I won't pass tech inspection for the OTA school on Sat.

Need somewhere that can do it quickly and for a decent price.

Called Scarborough Toyota and they wanted $499+tax which seems ridiculous. Every other windshield I've ever replaced was more like $300+tax.

Speedyglass wanted even more, $520+tax.

Trying a smaller local guy my buddy used for his truck.

Have you tried a subaru dealership?

Give Autoglassworx a call - 9057950669. They're based in Mississauga but are mobile - I got their contact through a friend at a Honda dealership in the area. They've done several windshields on my cars including the BRZ. I think I paid $460 cash for everything, including the gaskets and stuff. This is the aftermarket glass - OEM was around $800.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Just got off the phone with my insurance and my comprehensive deductible is only $300. Since everywhere I've called it well over $300 I'm just going to go through Toyota for OEM glass and let insurance pay the difference.

How much is the OEM glass?

Toyota wanted $499+tax installed, which included the trim or whatever they replace when they change a windshield.

Fast, mobile service, friendly. He had the option of OEM or aftermarket...found him after looking for reviews on RFD, VWVortex, TM3

I've went to my local Dealer to inquire about OEM front Windshield costs they quoted me $268.02+tax. They offered to have it shipped in and call their installer guy if I didn't have one of my own. Haven't gotten around to doing it yet still gotta rock chip (that has been filled for the time being) right in the middle of the glass

All said and done the total at Scarborough Toyota was $682, which I don't really understand since they originally quoted $499+tax for everything.

Oh well insurance picked up the tab so I don't really care.

The coolest part is the "Made in Japan" sticker on the windshield.

Always go OEM so you don't get distortions.
