I was curious about this as well.

i have been looking at that too some dealers want to respect the june 1st date and other just want to sell their cars..... that might be why a lot of the cars are being held at port.

Went into the dealership to purchase my wife a Prius C two weeks ago and also got an Argento FR-S for myself (Traded in my 09 WRX). I picked mine up from the dealership on Thursday afternoon. They had spoken to the District Manager the weekend before it was released from port in Jacksonville and he approved them to let me take the car early, but they would pass the papers into Toyota on June 1st.

they are all cars that the FIRST86 decided to NOT buy, and only ones allowed for resale by dealers until June 1, except in circumstances approved by Toyota HQ such as aftermarket companies that need them to measure or have special arrangements for promotional uses, which is rare as well.

In some cases, FIRST 86 also has changed thier minds post delivery to dealership on transmission choice or colors, and the ones that already have been released to dealer inventory is up to the dealer to do as they wish. Since these customers are in line again to receive it according to their options choice.

So all normal allocations are still locked till June 1, 2012.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering why so many dealers seemed to be disregarding the official launch date...I knew it didn't seem right.

Good input Moto p, makes sense. I am going to assume my car will leave port around 29th and I will be in my new car by 6-1.

Got mine on 5/23, Asphalt 6MT at Lakeland Toyota/Scion. Had a deposit at another dealer and just happened that this one got in the color/trans choice I wanted so I jumped on it

So far every dealer in a 20 mile radius of me has at least 1 FR-S instock ready to take home. My dealer has a raven and whiteout instock and the customer can take the car home the minute paperwork is done. From what I have been following none of this where the first 86. Not sure if being part of southeastern Toyota region Has something to do with it or not. Anthor thing that seemed off to me was that our port in FL has just about every color and drivetrain style instock, and if a deposit is made you will take delivery within 2-3 days.

I was told last night that my car should arrive at the dealer Thursday night (5/31) but that I wouldn't be able to pick it up until 6/1. This is killing me. On top of that, someone is now supposedly offering me a good amount for my Evo. I have to verify that and get it all done before Friday if that's the case.

Forgot to mention I'll be getting my car from Frontier Toyota in Valencia, CA.
