"86 Already Sold Out" Article
Sorry if it's already been mentioned in another thread but didn't seem like it, just saw this up on Carsales...
http://www.carsales.com.au/news/2012...sold-out-30503 If they're right about the price, I might seriously reconsider the BRZ. |
Lol.... at $45 -$46,000 for a GTS, Toyota will have plenty of cars for sale for some time to come.
|
There is not 10k worth of add ons for the GTS! if its 45k i wont be buying... and someone else who is in the que can have it!
|
My thoughts exactly. Didn't wheels say $4k diff?

It's essentially the same car (mechnically). Subaru could come out of nowhere and steal the limelight right out of Toyotas hands. The car has a Subaru engine in it after all, miight as well get the one with the Subbie badge on it too :) |
I wish Toyota would bring out the GT 86 as a more bare bones like offered in other countries say for around $30 - 32,000 on road and let me spend $8 - $10,000 on my exhaust, wheels, aero kit, supercharger ..... and what a car it would be.
Or just offer all of that up front for $40,000 drive away. Question while I am at it...Will the GTS have a limited slip diff now or not? This was one of the things that really appealed to me from the start. I had one I'm my beamer and it was excellent.... This really better be a great price if it doesn't come standard as first promised. |
Maybe that's y TMCA are so secretive with info...
Btw those suckers willing to pay $3k to get their cars earlier, give me the $$ and I'm willing to swap place lol |
Yeah I found a lot of things hard to fit between that article and what we've heard before...
* GTS didn't seem to have that much extra stuff in it, but they are charging $10k more!? Seems more likely that one of the prices they have quoted are wrong, but who knows which (probably the GT being my pessimistic self :P) * BRZ was supposed to have everything in it, but they say here it will be cheaper than the GT!? Makes no sense, either it will be bare bones or it will be more expensive... If anything seems more like something Subaru would try and say to make people wait for it over getting an 86 now? News seems all over the place, I guess we'll have to wait and see, then the fun part of speculating will be over! lol I laughed at the part about pre-orders too, I've lost count how many "I've orded but if it's over $30k I'm pulling out" posts I've seen here alone :P |

Difference is: 380,000 Yen at an exchange of 0.0128792856, that's roughly $4894 If Australian GT Standard spec is: $35,990 RRP (manual) $37,990 RRP (auto) Then throw on $5k for the GTS High Spec $40,990 RRP (manual) $42,990 RRP (auto) @ $35,990 RRP, that's the same as a Rav 4, 4cyl Cruiser http://www.toyota.com.au/rav4/prices...SEER2WD_Prices Edit: Their website is playing up for me showing different prices when I select it from different vehicles, might show as $33,990 RRP for you. Plonk that in with your post code and it calculates Drive Away price for you. For me, its $39,693.20 Throw in metallic paint and it jumps to just over $40k drive away. Quote:

I think metallic paint is standard. All colours are metallic or pearl.

Aero kits are less than $2,000 in the states not including postage.....
Get a container load of them with all of us here and it would be cheap to import.......fingers crossed. |
Aero kit is just the name filler.
Pretty sure it's the Nur kit with body kit, spoiler and LSD all which have to be fitted at the factory. |
no way in hell there's $10k worth of difference there. like some of the earlier responders said, if this is the case, TMCA will be returning a lot of deposits.
