WORKS Exhale ABM (Axle Back Muffler) Exhaust

The WORKS Exhale Axle Back Muffler Exhaust is part of our modular exhaust series for the FR-S and BRZ that allow you to quickly and easily mix and match the MP (Mid Pipe) and ABM (Axle Back Muffler) with any of the factory exhaust components.

With the WORKS Exhale ABM (Axle Back) bolt-on exhaust, it is a straight through design. Features 64mm (2.5") tubing, stainless steel muffler and beautiful 102mm (4.0") double walled (prevents yellowing), stainless polished tips with the "WORKS" etched logo. Direct bolt-on to the factory flange, OEM-style hangers for precise fitment and swaps back to stock in minutes. Includes gasket and simple installation instructions.

By itself, the gains (~2 HP) are minimal in NA (naturally aspirated) form. Further gains can be obtained by including the WORKS MP to complete the cat-back system and/or WORKS ECU Brain Flash P1.

The WORKS ABM saves you over 11lbs from stock for an additional performance advantage.

The volume is mellow, but not too quiet. Very mild mannered during idle and cruising, but aggressive when you open it up!

Price: $399

Thank you charged!

In my last post I embedded a video of our BRZ at Sonoma Drift with the ABM Exhaust installed (let me know if the link is not working).

Forum member @Cadenz also made a really nice video of our ABM Exhaust installed on his BRZ. The video is embedded below. :)

Why is one outlet muffled but not the other? Are both outlets functional?

Good question!

Yes, both outlets are functional. The design allows for simplicity in construction, smaller packaging and weight savings all while still producing the same power gains as a straight pipe in naturally aspirated cars.

Is louder on the left side?

I have been looking at this system for a long time now, but can never make up my mind! so many options out there...

What is really the main difference between this, AB-M, and the AB?
is this one (AB-M) quieter?

Thanks!!

I couldn't say if it is louder (we would need to measure the decibel level on both sides), but the sound is different due to the left side being un-muffled.

That said, we spent a lot time tuning the left side outlet size (it is slightly downsized) to achieve a good balance between the sound and flow through the two outlets.

Thanks for the question!

Hi KingGeo,

The AB-M and the ABM are the same product, just different ways to write it.

The AB (Axle Back) Exhaust uses a 455mm (18") glasspack resonator instead of the stainless steel muffler used with the ABM, making it louder than the ABM.

Below is a video of the AB Exhaust for comparison with how the ABM Exhaust sounds.

Thank you for the question.

These sound pretty good... I'm starting to wish I didn't get my TopSpeed muffler.

How's the volume/drone? Its it DD-able?

Yes, this exhaust is very dd-able.

That was one of the goals for this product, that during "normal" driving there would not be excessive noise or drone. It is very mellow during idle and cruising.

We often refer to it as a "gentlemen's" exhaust. :D

Thanks for the video Byebye!

And just to make it clear, this is a video of our Exhale AB Exhaust (not ABM), so it has a louder, more aggressive sound.
