Kenu Airframe phone mount review

So I needed a new phone mount. I had tried some suction mounts from amazon but they were wayy too bulky and didn't fit anywhere. Today I ran out to Staples and picked up a Kenu Airframe vent-mount phone holder for my BRZ, and it's pretty much the perfect solution for a phone mount on this car, costs about $25.

Check it out:

You might see (in first pic) I put a small cardboard shim to hold the vent up, this keeps the vent from leaning downward and keeps the phone above the radio volume button.

The rubber clips that hold it onto the vent are REALLY stiff and it fits snugly on the plastic directional controller for the fan. Phone held snugly by the Airframe's rubber, but it does wobble a little bit but that can probably be fixed with another shim or something.

Something like this should have come with the car! I remember seeing on the 86 convertible prototype they had some kind of phone holder.

Highly recommend you guys get one if you don't have a phone mount! No more looking down at my phone for GPS directions! Another added benefit is that your phone battery gets cooled by the A/C, which is helpful on mine since my phone tends to overheat while charging and running the gps radio with brightness all the way up.

Next I'll probably get some stick-on wire guide clips to tuck away the charging cable.

I always get excited when I see these and want to buy one then I remember breaking a sidewindow while drifting because my phone flew through it.

The airframe has a rail that extends out to fit larger phones, so (guessing) yes you guys.

And yeah you wouldn't want to be mean to it and go drifting, but it holds on pretty good.

That mount has been in my wish list for a while, I might buy it soon ... thanks for the review!

Found it was too shallow to clip to the side vents and the middle vents there are far better clip onto the garnish type ones.

Tried the Kenu but didn't like it. Wasn't stable out of the box. Ended up with a Scosche magnetic mount. Cheaper and works great.

Yea I agree with phobos512. I just bought the Scosche and it works really well.

I wanted to use the Kenu in my car beacause it works great in my wife's G. Unfortunately it's not stable with our vent design without modification.

try to put your Kenu ALL the way to the left on the driver side vent, and have the extended arm on the left side too, at least this is how i hold my iPhone and it's extremely stable, and you still able to adjust the vent horizontal direction, but it doesn't work well for landscape mode.

I have the imagnet because I remember breaking a vent in my old car so I'm off the vent type mounts.
