We tried something like that in the Portland. Got kicked out of the lot before we could get through everyone.

I was just statin we tried this awhile back and it didn't work out to well. Just a bunch of guys reving their motor and driving to 5k in a straight line and back.

stockysnail 06-28-2014 02:27 PM

I'd be up for doing this again in Portland. I'm always in search of the perfect exhaust note. :) I'm not going to organize it this time however. :p

That was at Clackamas Town Center. Josh organized that way back then.

I'm sure PRE wouldn't mind the 86 guys using the lot for this endeavor. I'll ask.

what? i didn't even think of that , i thought we just go to a park or a mall and just do it , nobody can do anything seen it's a public place , we just basically driving not do any drifting or racing.

okkoem 06-29-2014 12:09 PM

i have few location in mind , one of them is Totem Lake Mall in Kirkland , this mall is like a death mall not much car parking over here and it's has very nice up hill road , so that's perfect for 1st and 2nd gear and it's has perfect turn around road right in the back of the mall.

Secluded industrial Park is good other than rent a cops typically patrol them.

i don't think we gonna have to deal with them seen we don't do anything wrong , what is the reason they gonna pull u over ? by driving under limit speed ? i think we have the right to assembly and the right to driving on the public road , as long as we don't drive over limit then they can't do nothing , loud exhaust is accept in WA . After the meeting we can also take a cruise , it's gonna be fun.

Seriously? Have you been in jail?

Sorry if I offend you but " ARE YOU 16? " If a law enforcement official or a judge sees what you wrote here, you're good as cooked (and so are we!) Don't think they aren't watching these threads.

I've been around the block, several times. I am probably older than your parents, and have been busted and harassed for the exact activity you are encouraging others to engage in. Please reconsider and be respectful of the law. A mall parking lot is NOT public property, and you can't do anything you want there. If you own the mall and the parking lot, that is something different.

Rant over!

If you really need to listen to a stellar 86 exhaust system you need not listen to any other than mine. It's a complete Perrin 3" behind a turbo. PM me and I will make time, or come to a regular NW meet so you can hear it.

Chen 07-01-2014 02:17 AM

We got kicked off for basically loitering

Like everyone here I'm with Pete all the way on this. Mall security will do anything to get you kicked out if they see you not spending money at the mall. Hence the no loitering signs they have. Plus some of us here are loud enough to wake the dead so just casually revving and shit isn't a great idea.

BRZPDX 07-01-2014 08:50 PM

go to the industrial area in the NW. That's where I go for video, testing pulls etc. Everything is closed on Sundays there.

god damn , why so serious grandpa ? even i'm asian and only in USA for 10 years ,i don't think government will fund a program for finding owner with loud car exhaust only , i just think that crappy mall will be lucky to had some nice car park over there since nobody go to that death mall and i few like i don't do nothing wrong , honestly ,may be i just don't know much.

So allow me to break down and further explain Petes rant.

One, you are not allowed to loiter in a mall parking lot making exhaust noises. this will lead to rent-a-cops telling you to leave or calling the cops. And let me tell you, a modified exhaust is NOT LEGAL in WA.

I present you with RCW 46.37.390

(1) Every motor vehicle shall at all times be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, bypass, or similar device upon a motor vehicle on a highway.

(3) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the engine of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle not equipped as required by this subsection, or which has been amplified as prohibited by this subsection. A court may dismiss an infraction notice for a violation of this subsection if there is reasonable grounds to believe that the vehicle was not operated in violation of this subsection.

Two, that mall is in a residential area with houses and apartments, i can assure you the people who live there will not appreciate a bunch of cars showing up making a ton of noise. which leads us back to cops showing up and handing out tickets.

Three, since those roads are residential, the limit on them is 35, if you're going to have people drive hard so you can hear the exhaust note, you will quickly be over the limit in second gear. Again cops show up and if they feel real inclined, they can hand out a ticket for too hard of acceleration (should someone really wring the car out in first gear).

i have meet some cops in Lynnwood and Georgia before , last time i have my interior light on driving at night , just like my avatar show and i meet around 20+ cops(West Seattle PD and Lynnwood PD) and non of them say anything , i think they just think it's pretty cool , till 1 time i got pull over and the cops say : hey, your interior light is illegal , then i say : what? is it ? how come the bus have it ? , the cop say : what bus ? , i say : community bus , he say : Hm................................., i say: u know i got this over 2 months and u are the first one to pull me over , cop say : that's fine and give me the ticket . I still do it some time when i like , not because i'm a crazy guy but i my thought is speeding is illegal but people still do it everyday ,right ? So it's same thing for me , i know if i got pull over i gonna get the ticket and i willing to pay for it .

you say it's " NOT LEGAL in WA. " to put "modified exhaust" , honestly i don't know it and i thought it's legal , Every Weekend i drive to West Seattle and over there i Always see cop and Sooo... many cars with "modified exhaust" so i thought it's legal , unless NO One give a crap and when i say No One that's included the cops , i living i apartment now and me and my neighbors have loud exhaust (my neighbor exhaust car heard a mile away) and cops parking in
our apartment 3 day a week and never say anything about it.

and Totem Lake Mall is don't have much house close to it , you can look it up on google map .

thanks all to share your experienced with me , i just wanna heard some exhausts to get the idea for my future exhaust but seem like a lot of problems , since then i think we should just do some cruising around , i don't think it's illegal , right ? TF everything is illegal is the USA except guns.

lol you are misinformed, certain Class 3 weapons are also illegal to own in USA.

okkoem 07-02-2014 10:59 PM

a lot of people say that's interior light impede your vision at night , that's not true in my experience , i can tell you it's actually make your vision better when you driving with the normal environment with street light around you . You only can't see much stuff around you if you in completed darkness area .

Ris 07-03-2014 11:11 AM

I'm so done.

Dvipercop 07-03-2014 02:55 PM

Like a camera, your eyes will automatically focus on the closest light towards you. So you're basically ruining your depth of vision with driving with the interior lights on.
