Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2014 | Preparation

We have been working hard the past few weeks to get the Evasive Scion FR-S ready for Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado! Last year we had a completion time of 10:59 driven by Rob Walker aka MaxRev. We have been preparing all day and night with major new upgrades to the FR-S such as HKS 2.1 Stroker Kit, HKS camshafts 260/266, Hewland Transmission, Motec M150, Water Cooler and lightened aero including carbon doors, revised carbon splitter, fender louvers, and Varis carbon hood. After analyzing the data we acquired from last year and making the necessary adjustments, we plan to beat our current time substantially. We have concluded our 1st day of testing. Small issues to work out but we are looking forward to the first practice tomorrow on the mountain!

The Evasive team has made it to Pikes Peak in Colorado! We passed tech inspection on Monday and the rest of the week is practice and qualifying. We are currently tuning/testing the car and making adjustments to the FR-S for this weekends mountain climb. So far, we have already shaved off 17 seconds from last years qualifying time of 4:36!

Here it is! Take a ride with Robert Walker as the Evasive FR-S makes the full run up Pikes Peak. Official time was 10:37.791 which puts us in 4th place in unlimited class. We were able to improve our previous time by over 22 seconds! Power level remains about the same as last year, most of the improvements came from gearbox, weight and tires. We hope to return again with more power next time around and hopefully get closer to that 9 minute mark!
