Customizing Start Up Screen on the BRZ

Hey guys, I have been having trouble changing my start up screen in my Subaru BRZ. I've been following the guides in this thread. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7636
Apparently this link is only for the BRZ Nav for the US.

I've also posted my problem there, and no one seems to respond, or know my problem. I've read the manual, and I also did follow it, still no avail.
I believe the 2013 Subaru BRZ comes with the Pioneer AVIC X9310 HU. And it takes up a MicroSD card. I've followed the manual's info, making a "Pictures" folder, inserting the .jpg/.jpeg image, with an aspect ratio of 16:9 hi resolution image. But it's still giving me an error saying "Image cannot be read". By the way, I'm using a Nexxtech MicroSD HC 8GB Class 10.

Has anyone changed their Splash screen into something else and if so can I get some advice?

I don't know what help I can give, but I had the same problem with uploading a photo. It seems incredibly fussy on what file format you choose and file size. Even though I followed the guidelines, I still had issues.

I would recommend converting the file to other file formats and different resolutions and trying again. I am sure one of them will work.

What file format and resolution did you choose? I'd like to know please. =)

What file format did you save it as and as well as resolution? I'd like to know please. =)

Alright cool, I'll try that tomorrow. I'll let you know if it didn't work.

I've finally done it! I guess you're right, it was the wrong ratio. Even in the manual it says, 2542x1944. I used 3500x1944 ratio. And it fits the whole screen!

Thanks for the help! =)

Glad it worked!!

The screen resolution is only 800x480. No need to use a higher resolution image than that, it cannot look better. In fact, the unit has to scale the image so unless it's exactly in integer scale (1:1, 1:2, 1:4, 1:8) it's going to look worse than it could have if you used a computer to scale the image with a good algorithm.

I mean it looked really good on my screen. The manual says 25422x1944 and it didn't even fit the whole screen. So I tried 3500x1944 and it worked out the way I wanted.
