Anyone else thinking about the door stabilizer?

I've thought about getting these but not sure if it would truly add much. Anyone have any experience with them?

I know some people are, but I am highly skeptical myself.

If you can read Japanese:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's supposed to simulate the rigidity of a sealed door, much like track cars, while maintaining the functionality of a door. Namely... opening.

Me too. Makes me wonder why they weren't installed in the first place.

ESBjiujitsu 05-24-2012 08:44 PM

oh hell yes. im really wanting a roll cage in this car and ill still get the stiffeners ..... any little bit helps :)

Fish 05-24-2012 08:50 PM

I like the way it looks. Very clean. Plan to get it... eventually.

jkonquer 05-25-2012 12:05 AM

So under body flex, those door stablizer will compress each other simulating a stronger structural integrity?
If so im guessing it will also scratch the crap out of it.

Only if its doing its job.

But really too pieces of clean metal shouldnt scrape all that badly. Maybe after 100k miles of abuse but I am hoping there is not much chasis movement even before these little guys get put on.

Looks like perhaps the black areas are some kind of wear surface - perhaps a plastic like Delrin?

ESBjiujitsu 05-25-2012 10:17 AM

That's what it looks like to me a cool tact patch. And delrin. Or hdpe is class a painted surface safe so it wouldn't scratch the paint.....theoretically lol.

civicdrivr 05-25-2012 02:02 PM

Ive read elsewhere that it is a plastic of some sort. My question is what sort of stress do they put on the hinges.

Turbowned 05-26-2012 02:36 PM

Seems like a neat idea; I'll wait for the price to drop because right now it seems far too pricey to be worth it.

GodSays 05-26-2012 09:05 PM

Already bought it lol
now I'm playing the waiting game which I'm very familiar with
