OpenFlash Tablet: v1.60 OTS Maps (beta)-- USDM testers wanted

Hi guys,
We finally have v1.60 beta maps reading to go! Currently only for USDM cars (C and D series ROMs). But we can extend support to the other ROM types very quickly. But first we are looking for some testers who can provide us with useful feedback. Please email me (shiv@vishnutuning.com) if you would like to test AND meet the following requirements:

-OFT user
Beta maps will be provided as a .dev file. Like all beta maps, this means that they cannot be edited or viewed. This is just to make sure that no one tinkers with the maps at this point.

-Datalog user
You need to know how to datalog and use Datazap.me. This means being able to run 3rd gear WOT pulls from 2000 to 7500rpm and send me datazap links for viewing.

-Stock Air box
Those will aftermarket CAIs should not test at this time. Only those with stock air boxes please!

-USDM customers
This means your CAL ID must end in either a C or D :)

I'll be creating a mailing list for the next couple of days and will be emailing the maps out on Friday just in time for some weekend testing. In my email, I'll also include more infer about the new maps, what to look for, and how to test. Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

Cheers,
Shiv

Exciting, I can do all these except for the finding a place to do 3rd gear WOT conveniently. Still exciting though, hoping for LC on B01C.

LC has been available for a long time, you just have to open the ROM in the ROM Raider tuning program and enable it.

You won't be able to do that with the beta release since they're .dev files and can't be edited, but the final release will have it.

celica73 06-26-2014 05:55 PM

I can give it a go. OFT, OFH and no other engine mods (stock airbox, snorkle and filter).

cruizin01 06-26-2014 09:35 PM

Is the E85 map changed? Id be down if thats needed.

@shiv@vishnu
Dyno for the changes?
What kind of quantifiable improvements are there in this new release?
What were your aims/goals?

Cheers

I've only dyno tested Stage 1 v1.6 and it made a 5-6whp more than Stage 1 v1.69. Drove smoother and was a bit more refined as well. Less induction noise at WOT in the 2500-3000rpm range too.

Stage 2 has seen road testing and similar drivability improvements. But it didn't get as much of an overhaul as Stage 1 since it already had a lot more development time put into it (since that is how our shop car is configured 95% of the time). E85 maps got some minor wheels but nothing too major. They already performed quite well.

More will be explained in the email I'll send to the v1.60 beta tester mailing list :)

Cheers
Shiv

Hey don't feel too bad, at least you have your car. Mine's in the shop being fixed after getting rear ended and all I wanna do is test these damn maps out! :(

Tromatic 06-27-2014 01:23 PM

If these are based off the latest ROM, will you include a copy of the base ROM as well, please?

Lawn_Mower 06-27-2014 01:36 PM

I'd be down, but I don't have the tablet:lol:

Discount price for being a tester?

ScionFrsFan 06-27-2014 03:41 PM

Curious about e85. "Small Changes" Will the average driver be able to feel those changes? lol

Lytheum 06-27-2014 03:42 PM

Will dev files still not work on 700c?

You do not need the latest base ROM to flash. Just so you know. It was a question I had before getting my OFT.

However, since I want the latest ROM and only have the OFT, I need the latest OFT ROM for my cal to be based on the latest factory ROM, which, AFAIK, is what is being done with the 1.60 ROMs. I just need to spring for a Tactrix.

What you're asking about has nothing to do with the OFT beta test ROMs my friend. Best not to clutter this thread further.

It kind of does

AFAIK oft tunes roms are based on the later calid roms ie if you were on a 700C rom the oft tuned rom you load would actually be based on an A01C rom and this had the patches for LC and FFS. The B01C guys missed out as the patches were not done for B01C or D they just got the tuning changes.

Hopefully the 1.6 tunes may do this ie be based on B01C. so all users effectivly get updated to B01 series rom with lc and ffs.

To jump a rom series you would need a tactrix without a lot of stuffing arround

And again, this has what to do with THE BETA? Oh, nothing. The fundamental way the OFT ROMs work is not the question here.

Do you realize you are trolling one of, if not the most helpful person in the software tuning section? Also, the B01 series maps do indeed affect things if they include changes for that series CalID. There are several fixes that might be of interest to those that can't or rather not go to a dealer to get the latest CalID. Knowing wether or not the beta maps includes these fixes may or may not explain differences people see while beta testing.

In other words, you can tone it down a tad.

gonzo 06-28-2014 01:28 AM

Did the beta testers get an email today? I just emailed shiv so hopefully I can still join in :)
