Im buying coil overs within the next 2 days i need help deciding what coil overs to go with I'm looking for something under 1200$ and that will be stiffer and handle pretty nice I'm going turbo within the next 2 weeks and need to upgrade my wheels and am not sure what coil overs to get i came across st coil overs for 450$ they have 5k miles on them and are in good condition, should i grab those or buy a different coil over

I'm planning on getting BC Racing BR type coilovers. Had them on my s2000 and were my favorite of all 4 of my coil purchases. Affordable and durable.

I haven't had coilovers on my BRZ yet, but for that price range, I have read that ST or Bilstein's are best for the $1000 price range.
|
I'm planning on getting ST coilovers, but I'm not sure yet. I had Stance Super Sport coilovers on my Cobalt and they were pretty awful- the ride was somewhere between horrible and really horrible, depending on how the dampening was set. Does anyone know how ST coilovers ride in the FR-S?

$1200 budget?? ....Bilstein B14..nuff said ;)
|
Stance Super Sports are the best way to go. Super comfortable and very stable on the FRS. Can upgrade to Swift springs for even more smoothness. It's stiff enough where you don't bottom out on dips. Works best at the track. Great for daily.

^ i beg to differ. its the same stuff as all the other taiwanese coilovers in essense. you can slap swift springs on everything.
you've posted the same thread in two places. people in the other thread gave you concrete advice. if all you want is to be low and stiff sure, BC all the way... |
I've had ST's on my BRZ for about 7000 miles now. I love them. My personal goals were slightly stiffer than stock and height adjustability. If you're going for stiff, you might consider other options. These are noticeably stiffer than stock, but not hugely so. Other options would probably be stiffer, and certainly BC BR's are going to go lower.

I'd say go B14's if you're going turbo (meaning that you care about your performance to put an extra couple thousand on the engine). If you want that drop/low/static look, get aforesaid options like: Stance, BC Racing, Tein, and etc.
For budget coilovers with numerous third party reviews, I'd suggest nothing but B14's and the ST's. If you're going turbo, you might as well save up a bit more and aim for some KWv3's- again assuming that you're more of a performance oriented driver. |

You can obtain some decent coilovers for that price.
I bought into the hype of KW is best. I had KW V3's on my car for 3 months. Sold them at the track actually. lol. Back on stock suspension + swift springs for now...until I decide on something. I suggest go to local meets... ask for rides. Go to the track... ask for feedback. You're putting big money on Turbo kit, but opting for $450 used coilovers. this tells me something. |
