Brz lap timer

2 Attachment(s)
I posted this on Facebook yesterday but all credit goes to @Tirewarmer who showed me Sunday out autocrossing.

Very detailed hidden track/lap timer hidden in the stock brz nav. Tracks elevation changes, top and lowest speed. Can be set to auto save and have split time and also able to export data to sd card.

Have not dug into this far enough to see what format it exports to or any other details but this was all at a quick glance

To get to this feature hit Map/nav button > menu > more... > trip monitor > record.

If set to auto save the record button switches to split to separate laps.

I've seen this feature and I don't see how it is in any way a lap timer. The information your showing is complete run of the mill trip statistics that any GPS like a garmin stores.

Also hardly hidden if its in the menu.

Yup. But I never thought to use it during an autocross event.

Obviously not a full on lap timer but if you aren't up for spending money on one and only occasionally track it then yes. Definitely nice to be able to go back and review if you were consistent or not. And I say lap timer because of the split functionality when you set it to auto save.

I'm guessing that you need to push the split time button every time you cross the finish line for a lap because it's not smart enough to do it on its own? I'd rather not look down at my screen while going over 100mph before a chicane turn appears at the end of the straight.

Lol could always hit it on a straight

Brz lap timer

I use Harry's Laptimer on iPhone and external 5Hz Dual GPS unit for more accurate speed measurement

How is it? I looked into it before but hadn't seen anything on here.

Works great for me on track, use it for data then overlay with GoPro video from camera mounted to the inside of rear window, so it records track and steering wheel and shifter

Are you using rookie or pro?

Are you on android or iPhone? Can't wait to get grand prix on android so it can sync wifi w/ GoPro....would make overlaying a lot easier.
