We offer 4 models of stealth style and compact vehicle specific fiberglass subwoofer enclosures for the 2013 and up FR-S / BRZ / GT 86 platform. A 10" model for both sides of the trunk and an 8" model for both sides.
While our options may not be quite as inexpensive as the one previously shared in this thread, we feel that our product is a better value, and here is why: Our enclosures are made from thick 100% hand laid fiberglass CSM, pulled from a front and back mold, unlike the competition or custom built enclosures that use a stretched fabric front for a base shape. This means our enclosures will have a higher strength to weight ratio for reduced flexing and better sound. This also means that our enclosures maintain a consistent internal volume from 1 part to the next, so you can trust that you are getting the intended airspace. We incorporate ribs into our designs to keep the larger flat areas on the floor of the enclosures from "oil canning" or flexing, which means you'll hear your music not the flexing of the enclosure and that again equates to a better sound experience. Our enclosures include a mounting bracket so the enclosure stays in place without all the hassle of trying to figure out a mounting solution. We also designed ours to incorporate a grill option so that your woofer stays protected from moving objects. Lastly our enclosures compact design takes up less usable space in the trunk. Combine all of the above design and build aspects with the fact that we coat the inside and out of each enclosure with Cascade Audio Engineering's VB-1X liquid sound dampening compound, include high quality Knukoncepts twisted pair 12 gauge sub wire, gold plated bolt through terminal posts, and line the inside with polyfil dampening material for tuning. We also offer a 5 year warranty and a 30 day return policy. All of this leads us to believe that our enclosures are more than worth the minimal price difference. If customization is what you want, we offer a full range of options and finishes, and can even tailor the internal volume to your subs recommended spec! While none of the enclosures mentioned in this thread may be within your set budget, it's hard to understand how a stealth style enclosure could be priced any lower, unless you just wanted a cheap plastic box pressed from a couple sheets of ABS, which would not only flex and rattle, but would be unable to house a woofer with any kind of true punch. Compare any of these fiberglass enclosure options to a custom fiberglass enclosure built by your local audio shop for $600-$800 and up, and these really are the budget savvy option and in our opinion a no brainer. A slim wood box against the back seat would come in at a much lower price point, but is not considered a stealth option. So again I guess the question is, "What is you idea of stealth and budget"? In the end, remember that a subwoofer is only as good as the enclosure it is mounted in.
